Hi all.

My little girl is 5 weeks old today and iv been breastfeeding her since birth with bottles of expressed milk in the night. the past few days iv switched her to formula and stopped breastfeeding. I didnt stop because it wasnt working but she is sleeping so well at night that i keep waking up with really engorged boobs and it was starting to get to uncomfy. well i think im regretting my decision now. my breasts are still quite full although not leaking nemore and i havnt expressed or fed lo for almost 4 days now altho i did pump two days ago. is there any way i can go back to it? how would i start again as the day before i expressed at night and the milk i produced was really watery and pale in colour. i chucked it away. is it too late to start again? any advice would be good xx:flower:

It's not too late at all! Just pump on the schedule that you used to (or try latching baby on if you prefer to not pump), and the demand will soon get the supply back to what it was.

As for the engorgement, it's just that your little one has stretched out the time between feeds a little bit and your supply hadn't reacted to the change yet. You could either pump that extra milk off for a freezer stash, or just wait a couple of days for your supply to play catch up. It'll happen every now and again when little one changes feeding pattern, totally normal! :flower:

It's hardly ever too late :) I managed to get my daughter off bottles after 3 months of combi-feeding x
