Can I use a sample?

Hi all. I’m feeling very fed up at the minute. My cycles have always been irregular. I’m currently in day 42 of this cycle (the longest iv gone without AF) I can’t be sure when or even if I ovulated so deciding when it the “right time” to test is a tough one. I took my last test on Tuesday with fmu which was negative. I have some more in order that are arriving today. This morning I took a sample of my fmu in a pot I got from the dr. Is that still accurate to use hours later (il dip a test in it when they arrive) should I just pee on one when they get here or have an irritable wait till tomorrow morning? I just want to know either way what’s going on

Hcg does break down over time. I would just use afresh sample. Good luck.
