Can thrush make you bleed?

So i think ive had thrush for 2 weeks now. I thought i'd wait and see if it cleared up as it usually does on it's own. But its gone terrible When i wipe myself its so irritated and sore and last night when i wiped i noticed a bit of blood and my skin looked a bit cracked and was bleeding. Not alot but it does sting. The chemist won;t sell me anything for it so have put some bepanthen on it and its made it better.

Does it sound like bad thrush? Ive had all of the symptoms of thrush except its never made me bleed.

I'd say it can, maybe see your doctor to see if they can give you anything ?

My doc prescribed the 3 day canesten treatment and a light dose of metronide (ab). Definetly go get checked the stinging is awful but with the cream it'll make it heaps better.

Might sting a little bit but normal vinegar diluted in some warm water really helps xx

So glad i can get something that will fix it quick! Its sooo sore. I can't really see much but from what i can see it does look like small cuts. Is the canesten treatment the pessaries?

It's the one with like the plungy syringe type thing. Doctor also advised to apply some to the outside too. This thrush thing is awful never had until I got pregnant this time around. Hope your doctor gives you something to sort it out. Also, ain't bepanthen great? So awesome to create a barrier and block some of the sting!

Yeah it does, it's so painful too !! Ask your midwife for something, she'll probably prescribe you canesten x

Bepanthen is brilliant, as soon as i put it on it stopped stinging. I just have to be careful when i use the bathroom now. Hope i can get in to see my GP tomorrow or ill be asking at the front desk for it lol.

I had the exact same thing, blood was coming from inside vagina, had it checked at by triage mw and they said there was some thrush at the top. Used canestan pessary, mw said to put it in with my finger not applicator. Cleared up after few days.

I google everywhere and hardly anywhere does it say thrush makes you bleed.. I have had unexplained bleeding and have severe thrush (bled even more with pessary so im reluctant to take it again!!) putting the two together I guess it can xxx

I was admitted to hospital 3times before the they said it was thrush I was spotting but didn't have any other symptoms for about two weeks caniston pessaries and cream cleared it up in no time hope this helps

is thrush the same as a yeast infection to us in the U.S.? If so, then yes. My doctor told me it can do that, but it's just on the labia pretty much where it's really irritated. I had that happen when I had it bad about a month ago, but it only looked like spotting when I wiped.

Yeah, its a yeast infection. It's exactly how your describing it. I thought it was coming from inside when i wiped but when i looked it was my skin.

Yes! It did exactly this to me!

Canesten cream cleared mine up.

Yes, if it is yeast infection, it can cause some very minor bleeding. I had it. I used some monistat creme (because it was 1st trimester), and it was gone in a couple of days.
In US canesten (generic name clotrimazole) is sold over the counter as gyne-lotrimin. Prob it's different in other places.

Confirming that it can cause skin to slough off and for you to bleed... I had it in my mouth after a course of severe antibiotics for a throat infection and it was truly gross and awful. My lips were cracked, white and had bleeding ulcers on them.

Please, don't leave it so long next time! Hope it clears up for you soon.

Monistat works and also Luke warm bathsoak twenty mins with epsom salt each day for a week.

And yes bleeding happens from torn skin

I had thrush a lot with my first pregnancy and was prescribed the canestan pessary, so there is something the doctor can give!
Until then natural yoghurt is amazing just put it over the area, I know some people dip a tampon in an insert it (ick) to help with the itching.

And yes it can make u bleed.
