Canadian Ladies - Paid to Pump at Work?

Hi Girls!

I am so stoked and proud of myself that i reached my goal of BF my DD for the first year. I am fresh back to work (this was my second day) and although she will snack on whatever we are snacking on and sip on cow's milk, she really is a little boob monkey and since we are still cosleeping, she scoots over and takes it when she wants it so my non-nursing bra fits me in the morning and from there if i had a mirror i could watch my boobs grow all day. by afternoon and especially by the end of the day i am so engorged its very uncomfortable. Does anyone in Canada know if I can pump without having to break on my own time? I would love my DD to be on BM as long as possible instead of daytime cups of cows mil. I asked HR if i could a long time ago during leave and they said they dont have any policies in place for that. Do you any of you Canadian ladies do this?? Thank you!

They need to allow you breaks to pump if you want them, it's a human rights issue and many people have taken employers to court over it. You should be able to find more info relating to your province if you google and provide that to your employer. If it was me I would tell them straight out I need a break to pump instead of asking. Good luck
