Canadian Moms & Moms to be!

J is so ready for a nap, but im trying to hold off a few more min's till tim gets home, theres a better chance he'll watch her if shes sleeping LOL

It is starting to feel a bit better and I have some more range of motion in it, but I need to put the magic bag in again.

Thinking I am in for another long night, B was doing really well with a 3 hour stretch a few nights in a row last week and then last night she woke up like every hour again so needless to say she has been catching up on sleep today and since I have been pretty immobile it hasn't helped much although I have tried waking her up and she just gets pissed and goes back to sleep or ignores me all together. Needless to say it is 8:00pm and she has been sleeping since 4:30pm except for the couple times she woke up to eat.

:hugs: Lisa, hope you have a better night tonight.

For anyone that was wondering (or not :haha:) That Dream Cream from LUSH that I got for Claire's chicken skin works WONDERS! Its still there, but not nearly as pronounced as it used to be.

Also, after waiting for nearly 11 months we finally have an appointment for an Occupational Therapist! Granted, its not the Resource Teacher that will help Claire with her speech, but its a step in the right direction! :wohoo:

good luck with the OT!!!

anyone watch the new show called once upon a time?

that's great Tiff :yipee: I'm glad you finally got an appointment! :happydance:

:hugs: Lisa I hope that tonight isn't to rough. Glad your neck is feeling a little better

Its not the appointment we really need, which is for her speech to be helped with. This lady will basically tell us what we already know (that she doesn't have autism etc) but its still progress!

a step forward at least! :)

nope haven't seen it Joss though it did look interesting from the previews I caught

Hope you have a better night Lisa!!

Yay for finally getting an appointment for Claire!! Hope it goes well :flower:

Never heard of that show Joss, but I'm usually just on the laptop most nights while N watches sports haha

Good luck with the appointment Tiff!

I swear, I sometimes hate being a SN mom. It has me all paranoid about A. She rolled belly to back a handful of times at 4 months old, but NOTHING in almost 2 months. She won't roll onto her stomach and if you place her on her stomach, she just screams bloody freaking murder, and the longer you leave her, the louder she gets and the harder she cries. She won't try to roll AT ALL or move AT ALL. She can sit unaided for 20-30 minutes at a time, and seems to have hit every other milestone, with the exception of passing an object from one hand to another.

Someone tell me I'm just paranoid.

Sounds perfectly normal to me Brandi

Hope you all are having a good day!! It's nice and sunny here, though a bit on the windy and chilly side, at least I can enjoy the warm sun from the couch :haha:

Hi!
Just checking in quickly. Crazy busy with Zoo projects, etc.
In-laws arrive Thursday, so need to do a LOT of cleaning and organizing.
Would like to go to

:hi: Sarah, I hope you can get your cleaning done quickly and get some rest!

Yay! Good luck with the appt Tiff.

Haven't seen it Joss.

Sounds normal to me as well Brandi.

Good luck with the cleaning Sarah, hope you get some rest soon.

 Been reading but just haven't had much to say. :flower:

We had a really good day of doing nothing but relax, which was much needed after these past few weeks of being crazy busy. The weather didn't cooperate for us to bring Claire to the pumpkin patch, its really bummed me out. We didn't get a chance to do it last year and I know it should be fine but I hate missing these things with her.

We didn't get to do much at Whittamore's cuz of how crappy the weather was. :( I know I said it last year but next year we can, right?

yeah the weather was crap here too. :hugs:

im really tired... J slept ok last night - lets hope it repeat.

yeah we had a whole hour of sunshine and it was back to rain :dohh:

Sorry you didn't get to go to the pumpkin patch but glad you had a nice relaxing day!

fingers crossed Sara!

Its been SO much rain here! The only solace I have (or WILL have) is that it better not freaking rain on Halloween night! This will be the first Halloween that both P and I get to take her out and I am going to be super ticked if it rains. :sulk:

Yeeesh! Pity party table for one over here! :haha: Too much rain here has made me very blah.

Can anyone recommend some good paint? I made salt dough ornaments with Claire god-knows how long ago. I just found them (in the oven with our stonewear that I was convinced was lost ) but not sure what type of paint to use. Should I get whatever Crayola brand that Walmart has or is there a better kind?

I plan to give them to family and friends as gifts "from" Claire, so I want the paint to last. I've heard mixed things about Crayola and Claire isn't much into crafts and only JUST started showing an interest in painting.

Tiff - YAY for an appointment. I'm confused, aren't OT's for people with work-related injuries? Maybe I'm really out of the loop here.

Brandi - I agree, that sounds completely normal to me. Alora was very lazy for a good 2-3 months, where she hardly did anything. And then, all within a few weeks started rolling everywhere, then crawling, then cruising. Hang in there, she'll all of a sudden surprise you I'm sure. ;)

Hi Sarah! :hi:

Not much new here. Alora took a few steps tonight (for those of you not on my FB :haha:)! :yipee: And she was so proud. :cloud9:

And I am BEAT! This darn working for a living is wearing me OUT!

Are you going to paint them WITH Claire??? If so, Crayola isn't bad or Elmer's, those are the only options you really have for the non-toxic stuff.

If YOU are painting them, acrylic paint works really well, and lasts a long time! :) Which you can get in the craft section at Walmart or where ever.
