can you get carpol tunnel syndrome if you arnt pregnant? This past while I have it in my hands and I am not pregnant and looked it up and seems only for pregnant woman and how it passes etc. But my fingers always hurt especially in the morning. I only remember getting this in first pregnancy. Maybe some other forum of arthritis? obviously I am going to see a doc about it but they are closed so looking opinions.

I just read that was a pregnancy symptom, I cant be pregnant I dont have a period still as Alex is still ELC?

i got it when i was pregnant and mine hasnt gone away, the midwife told me there is an operation you can have to get rid of it so it may be worth while speaking to your gp X

You can get it without being pregnant. My mom had it when she was in her 20's and had surgery on both hands to get it fixed. She said it worked! I am starting to get it now too, but not too keen on the idea of surgery. :(

I have it hun and I've not been pregnant! Talk to the doc about it, it might not even be carpal tunnel.
My mam had the operation for her carpal tunnel but it hasn't worked :(
I really don't want to have an operation either but there's a huge waiting list to even see a specialist publicly down here so I've plenty of time to think it through :haha:

I find keeping my hands warm and trying not to carry things in my hands for too long eases the pain a bit.

have docs on wed morning she is going to take my bloods and test for arthritis. I want something to come back but at the same time I dont better than her saying she cant figure out and me going away still in pain. My hands are so sore today. Got pains in hands from it to. Maybe my years of internet typing are catching up with me, although my feet? whats that about?

Hope you get some kind of results!! I was tested for RA and came back negative but I have all the symptoms :dohh: If it's in your feet too then I doubt its carpal tunnel or at least it's not just that! Hope you get some relief! I was prescribed ibuprofen and difene for my pain management and it's brilliant especially the difene but don't like taking pain meds so only turn to them when it's unbearable.

probably come back neg with me and my doc will just shrug shoulders and I will suffer alone with no help just like the neck injury they wouldnt believe me on.

I hate when that's all you get is a shrug and admission that they have no idea what's wrong! I feel like screaming there must be something else you can check!
I did get one doc to refer me to a research team looking into nerve damage in hands in CUH but still waiting to hear back from them too!
Hope ya get some answers at least hun!

get seen to as soon as u can. my mum has it really bad n had surgery.

My mom had Carpel tunnel without being pregnant just from work/typing. I got carpel tunnel during my pregnancy pretty badly and i still have symptoms of it. Its gotten better but i have a feeling its not going to go away fully:( It happens if I grab something in an akward way or picking little one up....

Didnt even get my blood test couldnt get to docs. And sore again now. It did go away for a day or two now back.
