I remember reading a post about 'cat nets' to cover the crib and bassinet that are for sale somewhere...but can't find the origanl post anywhere...who is using these? Do they actually work? Where can they be purchased?
Thanks ladies!

Hey, I brought one from Mothercare, which probabrly isn't much help sorry! Hope you manage to find one x

I got a cot bed cat net from ebay, but it isn't much use, there is too much slack so my cat sleeping on top of it is touching the mattress

We bought one of these with our first baby. . . it didn't fit the crib so we ended up returning it. . .
That said, our two cats NEVER climbed into the crib. . I think they were too scared of her. . . hahaha. . .

I've heard they are rubbish and dont really work. You can get them in Mothercare, ebay and John Lewis. Think I'm going to have to revert to training the cats instead (yeah, can really see that working!)

I dont have one, But my cat does tend to climb into the crib and bassinet. After a few times of him getting his little toosh smacked for being in them he has been pretty good about staying out. For some reason he thinks I make them nice for him to sleep in. It makes me SOOOO mad.

Ya that is kind of my concern....what if cats lay on the net and then it falls in and smothers baby? I was hoping they would be more sturdy with a frame or something to prevent that!

We saw an awesome one at the baby show in Feb but its not on the market until later this year. Its like a tee-pee canopy type affair. Much more sturdy and protective than the £10 nets currently on sale. I think it was designed to go over a Stokke crib, maybe google it?

I've did read up on the nets with my last one, Because he was crawling out of the crib. I decided (thats why I dont have them now) that the risk of the net falling in or baby grabbing the net is far greater then the cat really hurting the baby by laying in the crib or bassinet. Also Ive placed a blanket over bassinet and that seems to help keep the cat out too.

My cats never tried to get in with baby so never bothered with these. They were neverallowedin room where baby slept unless we were there so did not seem necessary.

We have 4 cats... those nets and such never fit my son's crib right. So, we put a very thin, cheap, wooden screen door in his door way. We painted it the color of the wood trim and you could barely notice it.

Worked great! A bit over the top for those who really care about how things look, but very practical!
