My doctor has referred me to the hospital for a blood test as I haven't fallen pregnant in the last 10 months but I have a question. She said to go on CD21 but I know it's actually 7dpo that you have to go and I think I'm ov'ing today which would make 7dpo next Saturday but I can only go for my blood test on a Monday to Friday so would I best to go at 6dpo on Friday or at 9dpo on Monday?

I had the same dilema when I got my first CD21 blood test. Nurse said to me either will do but in the end what swung it for me was I could only get an appointment on the Monday, so that's when I went.

I'm having to go for three CD21's in a row. Next one is my last one before being referred to FS.

Why did you have to go for 3? And do you know what they test for? I'm wondering if I have low estrogen as my pre-ov temps are relatively high, ranging between 36.2 (at the lowest - probably the lowest I've ever had actually) and it can go up to 36.5 which I think is relatively high. Googled it and it said that can be a sign of low estrogen. Will they check that from the blood test?

This test checks progesterone levels. Progesterone is released once you've ovulated, so if your levels are very low, it means you probably are not ovulated. Also, good progesterone levels are important for implantation and holding the pregnancy. in the UK, they like to see a level above 30 at 7dpo.

As for your temp, they are not particularly high. Every one is different. What matters is that there is a significant increase after ovulation. Mine before O are between 36.5 and 36.6, but goes up to 36.9 to 37.1 afterwards.

Susan, I need to have three test results before being sent to the fertility specialist. I never had the figures for the first test but doc said they were excellent. Second test results were 33.3, and as FBbaby said they have to be over 30 to confirm ovulation has taken place.

Oh I reckon this blood test is going to be pretty pointless for me then because I'm almost certain that I do ovulate. I get EWCM, ov cramps, positive OPKs and my temperature increases. I'll go anyway as maybe they will be able to tell something else from it. I thought it had to be over 16? Or is that a level of something else? A girl on here who I speak to went for the blood test the month she was pregnant and her level was 18 and they say anything over 16 could mean you are pregnant. Maybe I've got that completely wrong!

I knew i was ovulating also but still had to do the cD21 test. I think they have to do the CD21 tests and SA before they can send you to the FS.
good luckx.

Yes, that's right.

results are different in the USA and Australia to UK. All to do with the conversion they use. I think it should be 15+ in the US, but definitely 30+ in the UK
