CD8, Day 4 of Clmoid and a Positive OPK?!

Ok ladies, this is the weirdest thing in the world. Today is day 8 of my cycle, I started clomid on day 5 (so tonight I'll take my 4th pill)...this morning on my OPK I got a smiley! AKA A POSITIVE! Luckily I peed into a cup this morning so I was able to retest and when I did it changed to negative.
After taking both tests out of the thingy, I examined them and they dont look that different.
What in the world is going on?!

Sometimes clomid can elevate hormones at funny times of the month. I always wait a few days after my last pill before opk testing now. I did ovulate quite early on my first cycle of clomid, I think I got my +opk on cd10 and ovulated cd12. Every clomid cycle since then I have ovulated around cd 14 (i take my pills on days 2-6)
