Hello,

I currently work in finance but i would really really love to be a primary school teacher.

I would have to do the training whilst i still work though as going to Uni full time is not an option.

Is there anybody that could help me with the qualfiication side, what would i need to be a teacher? xx

To teach you generally need a degree and then a postgraduate qualification of some kind in teaching there are a few different ways of doing this. You used to be able to get combined degrees that took 4 years and qualified you in that time, I'm not sure if these are still common but I'm not sure if this would be possible part time. Obviously to get a degree you need prior qualifications to get accepted onto the course, A levels for example but things like BTECs get you UCAS points, also there is a requirement to have a minimum of a C at GCSE in English, science and maths to get into teaching.

I would imagine your best best would be to do a degree through a local uni or the Open Uni part time if you wish to continue to work and then explore your options with how to gain your QTS after graduating.
