child benefit ,birth certifcate?

Hia,
I have received a letter back from child benefit telling me all my claims been sorted and when they have started to pay me from bla bla ,but the birth certificate i sent to them with my claim wasnt with it, does anyone remember if the birth cerf is meant to come with this letter or if it comes back separate? thanks
