Hi gals. I just wanted to share a story with you and see if anyone else has had a similar experience. I'm a teacher and work with students with autism. One of my students is non-verbal and uses gestures and a PECS book to communicate. He enjoys buildings tents with blankets on our tables. I was sitting at the lunch table working on paperwork and he was building a tent on the other side. All of the sudden, I felt hands on my stomach. He had crawled under the table to be in his "tent" and was sitting infront of my chair. He very gently just placed his hands on my stomach for a few seconds and then turned away. It stuck out in my mind because he's a very affectionate child but never touches our stomachs. He likes to kiss our cheeks and rub our hands, but has never touched my stomach. I'm 8dpo today and have had some symptoms of being pregnant, but I do not know if I am yet. If I actually am pregnant, I fully believe my student knew it before I did. Does anyone else have any stories like this? Like I said, I don't know that I am pregnant...but it definitely got me thinking...

I have never heard that....but what a beautiful story...please keep us posted and feel well!

No experience like this but that is such a lovely story!!! I fully believe children like that as well as some animals have a sixth sense. Baby dust!!

Children with Autism see life in a whole different light than we do. They feel and sense things we cant...I dont know much about autism, but thats what I have learned. My youngest, is a very affectionate child and ever since I started TTC hes has become clingy...not clingy NO MAMA kinda clingy, its the I want to hug and sleep on your clingy...Kinda makes me wonder if he knows and says he doesnt want to loose his spot. That little boy in your class, to do that, may see an aura around you that only he can see. Test, if you are, then he truely is blessed. You will be to. Good luck. xx

When my friend got pregnant with her second, her daughter knew almost immediately.

Before I knew I was pregnant my then 2 yr old daughter touched my belly and said "baby". This was cool in many ways, especially since my daughter was not speaking then. (only a few words very rarely) she didn't start talking till she was almost 4 (she had speech delays). Pretty awesome story, hoepfully that little boy knows something you don't :)

 That is so beautiful... I am so keen to know what happens next! :flower: How exciting for you!:cloud9:

I'm a speech pathologist who works with many children with autism. For my first son, one of my students who was in 3rd grade at the time and has autism came up to during a therapy session. He is very verbal but does not usually initiate communication very often. Anyway I had just found out I was pregnant that morning before school and hadn't even had a chance to tell my DH yet. I was waiting to tell him at home that afternoon. So no one knew but me. He cane up to me and said Mrs. Heidi, you're gonna have a baby and it's going to be a boy and he's gonna have blue eyes like me. Which I did have a son with blue eyes. But I was quite freaked out by this. After he said it he just turned around and walked away and never spoke of it again. I could not believe it. But then again these kids amaze me every day. I will never forget Al's prediction. He didn't day anything for my second baby though. But these kids can sense things that people without autism cannot. Simply amazing.

Aww, thanks so much for sharing your stories! :) You guys made me tear up! My little guy is very special either way, but I did take a test this evening and may possibly see a faint line. I'm going to retest tomorrow morning with fmu, but I have a really good feeling about it. :)

my wee brother is away at a boarding school in somerset for his Autism so don't get to see him during the week, anyways he came home this morning jumped on the sofa to give me a hug (as im not normally at my parents he was quite excited bless him) he then quickly jumped back up and just gently put his arms around me and whispered in my ear 'sorry i didnt mean to hurt your belly will that hurt them or will they be ok?' he then casually went off and im left a little bit gobsmacked! lol! going to test later it would be very interesting tho! these are lovely stories :cloud9:

Thanks everyone! I tested this AM and it was negative. I'm 9dpo so there's still hope. :) Rachiie - love it!! Fingers crossed for you!
