Christmas Eve??

I usually have a big family meal on xmas eve, with meat, lots of seafood, wine , etc its lovely

yep i'd recommend mothercare too! also hon, try Boots, they do some lovely one's

I alway's clean the house from top to bottom on christmas eve have it all clean for santa coming lol

then we all get our new christmas p.j's, get maybe a chinese for tea then sit and watch a christmas dvd with only the christmas tree lights on,
after that the kids will get to open a little present, (this year it's santa mugs and the nose lights up lol) and a christmas book,

Then it's time for bed for the kiddies, me and OH will have a beer just to past time to make sure the there sleeping lol

Then the most important part of the night, all the presents start to come out, we build whatever needs done then I set all the toys out, (I have a special way and if it's not done right I just can't go to bed) after that I will tidy away all the bit's and pieces that is sitting around and me and OH go to bed xxxx

aww amanda love it i think we'll have a chinese too! it's normal take out on xmas eve, as well as play with the cat

I wish we had kiddies around Christmas time, makes it so much more special….we do absolutely nothing. OH works, I’m off…watch Christmas film I guess…

We for us my Oh has to work and gets home about 3, we play with kids, tell stories about christmas, then bath the kids get them into there new pjs, watch a christmas film on tv or dvd then we get a glass of milk and a mince pie for santa and carrots for rudolph and friends, then the kids go to bed all excited

This christmas eve is going to be different, we are going to see Peter pan in panto this year so the kids will be even more excited, i love all the excitement with christmas

My husband usually works Christmas Eve morning, but then we go over to my parents' house. We go to church around 4:30pm, for the carol service and Nativity, then back to mum and dad's for snacks and tv. My sister and her husband usually arrive around 7 o'clock, and then we'll get a Chinese take away. Then hubs and I will go home, and snuggle in front of the telly.

No kids for us yet, but I'm a children's worker for a church so Christmas Eve is a working day - but all lovely things! We go to Chester in the morning as its a family tradition to do a bit of last minute Xmas shopping - we all have a tenner each to buy something little & silly for each other. In the afternoon I'm at one church for their Christingle service - seeing the kids faces in the candle light is just magical, then on to another church for their nativity - also lovely! Then we have a takeaway for tea an go to the pub with friends we don't see all year. At 11.15 we go back to church for Midnight communion then home to snuggle up in our bed before we go to my Mum & Dad's for Xmas day!

I have never done anything christmas eve apart from putting the presents out etc, but this year I am deffinatly going to do something after reading all these good ideas. I will probably clean up most of the week leading up to christmas eve, then on christmas eve give everywere a last little tidy, change the beds, ive got Lilly a new Dora bed set which will hopefully make her want to get in it a little earlier lol. We will watch some christmas films in r new pj's, order a takeaway and then start trying to get Lilly to bed. Once she is in bed me & OH will get all the presents down around the tree and have a little drink and munchies.

Im like a big kid still on christmas eve, I cant get to sleep or anything. I am looking forward to this christmas soo much as ive been really organised this year so its like ive got everything now and im just waiting for it to come lol x

Oooh I love Christmas eve!
This year MIL is having Seren for a few hours in the morning so I can get some things sorted, and then in the afternoon we'll be having a little buffet just me, oh and seren, and watch a christmas film... Probably Merry Madagscar or something like that. Then it'll be bath time, open new pjs, and read a christmas story in bed. Me and OH will then be sorting out Seren's presents and have a couple of drinks with a film.

Last year we went out for lunch then Me and tyler put our xmas pj's on around 5-6 i make hot chocy and mashmallows normally watch what ever xmassy film is on the Tele, tyler goes to bed around 7 and then me and OH put all the xmas presents into seperate piles and watch tv and eat some nibbles in the evening

aww guys love your ideas they sound great well our xmas eve goes like this and i really wish it was here right now lol we get up put some xmas tv on ill then do breakfast get the kids all wrapped up and warm go up to the town which up there they have loads of things going on a ice skating ring which is all free they have animals up there etc well we take them up there do any last little bits we might need about 4 oclock take the kids to macdonalds for there tea take them to my parents house which they do baking with my dad cakes mince pies etc so they can put 1 out for santa well me and oh will come home clean up sort a few things out we get the kids back and we all sit around open our xmas eve prezzies there pjs slippers dressing gown and a book then we put them in the bath read a book and bed then me oh settle down for the night then before bed we get all the prezzies out and put the stockings on the bed then off to sleep we go lol hurry up xmas eve xx

The first part of my Christmas eve is very hectic. I always start my christmas eve by standing ouside tescos door first thing, so I can grab bread, milk, potatoes and any other last minute things. Then it is off to collect my turkey and believe me it is not fun carrying a 18-20lbs turkey home !!! lol

We will also try and have 1/2 an hour in my mums house just to get into the spirit of Christmas, sometimes we will have a little drink with my dad

Then it is home to clean the house, well the bottom 1/2 anyway and get the boys sorted. Dan is old enough to sort himself but I still like to make sure everything is perfect. We will all get into our new pjs and we each get to open one pressie, usually the boys will have a book or a game to play with. Then we will light the christmas candles, open the last day of Our advent calanders and put on a christmas dvd, usually The Santa Claus or The Grinch.

Before Dec goes to bed we will sprinkle the reindeer food and leave some stuff out for Santa and Rudloph.

Once Dec is in bed Dan and I will relax while my OH meets the family at the local for a few drinks, a bit of a male Christmas tradition. Dan and I will watch another film and he will help me do the little things like Open the bigger presents and decide where we are going to set them

Dan will go to bed at about 12am then me and OH will finish of the bigger presents and get Dans pressies sorted. When that is all done we will snuggle down, usually on the floor cus the seats will be full of the boys presents, and have a few beers before we go to bed

I love christmas eve, I enjoy it more than Christmas day and the whole excitment on the boys faces is wonderful to watch

Awww what lovely things you all do. This year is our first christmas with Eloise so we will all have new PJ's, watch a christmas film and we will read Eloise a christmas story before bed. Once she is asleep we will get a takeaway, have a drink or 2 and then put her pressies under the tree. So excited!

Im getting so excited reading all these threads
I love xmas eve more than xmas day, its so cosy and everyone is so excited, an i love the xmas films to watch to!

Hopefully i would have had our little girl by then, so this is what we usually do...
i cook a joint of pork and make pork,stuffing and gravey sandwhiches, me ross and kian snuggle on the settee and watch xmas films together with the light down and just the tree lights on, this time with a little baby in our arms too then kian will go to bed, hopefully sian will be asleep then me and ross can open a bottle of wine, sip, chat and watch more t.v...bring all kians presents down under the tree, go to bed then i wake him up because im sooo excited ...i have a feeling this year ill be begging for sleep though

Well Christmas eve is OH's birthday so, I will make breakfast & wake him up with his presents.

Visit people, I go to the hairdressers, go for a meal/takeaway, home, Christmas DVD with Hot chocolate & marshmellows, bath, new PJ's then put Santa's pie & milk our & Bed for Hallie.

Then get the 3 big things out & set them up and then arrange presents around them.

Although I was really considering for Darren's present booking him in for a tattoo on Christmas even in memory of his Grandad who died of Alzhiemers last Christmas.. 'To fight the unbeatable foe..' on his arm. I dunno if it would make enjoyable Christmas/Birthday though getting attacked with a hot needle

This year will be different for us, it's our first Christmas where one of us is driving!! So we will actually be able to go places

The plan is though..
get up, have a cooked breakfast, then go and visit MIL and take presents over to OH's family. Maybe go to the pub for a drink (not the designated driver, obviously ) Then we'll visit my Mum and Grandad in the afternoon. Come home, tidy the house, everyone has a bath Tegan puts her new pj's on and we read her a book. We have a little buffet for dinner and watch a dvd and then Tegan goes to bed And then we have a few drinks and sort the presents out... I will be honest, we both spend a lot of time online on xmas eve though..
