circumsised or uncircumsised?

Nope, not circumcised here, no reason to! Fob is actually circumcised though as his family are Jewish

Uncircumcised, it never crossed my mind I don't think many people in the UK have it done unless its for religious/medical reasons..personally I don't see a need other than for those reasons

I pressed thewrong button. I voted circumcised but I was meant to vote uncircumcised.
I don't like circumcision but don't want to debate about it as it's such a heated topic

Our son is uncircumcised as its not something we believe in :flower:

my son had his circumsision at 7 days old, this is the best time to have it done IMO, baby cannot move around too much and he will heal so quickly. By the next day the bandage came off and it was already healing, he had no discomfot/ etc whatsoever whilst having the procedure nor afterwards. We had the instant removal of foreskin method done, the area was numbed and he didn't cry at all while it was being done (n fact he was fast asleep as soon as they dressed him again! For the next few days we just applied olive oil to the area when changing his nappy and that was it!

We had it done for religious reasons, but there are also many health benefits to being circumsised. If you are thinking of having it done, it is much better to get it done youn (between 7-14 days is ideal) because they heal quicker, babies move less during the procedure (if they move too much they may have to have general anaesthetic which in itself has concerns for young children!)

Uncirced :) didn't even think about it! It's not really common in the UK, doubt i'd do it regardless of where I lived, don't really like that particular trend.

I don't have a boy, but if I do he won't be. It is still very common to circ here in the US, and I personally find it to be an outdated, virtually useless procedure. Aside from religious and extreme medical purposes, I think it should be left alone. It is an elective procedure here at least and not covered by insurance, so you have to pay for it yourself as far as I know.

uncircumcised - but don't have anything against circumcising

Circ for religious reasons. He was 3 days old. We used the ring method at the hospital & he was sleeping during & after the procedure. The ring popped out after 7 days.

we didnt circ. its something i feel VERY strongly about, my son can make the decision himself when hes older and fully aware and understanding about the procedure.

thats all im going to say!

I don't have a boy but if/when I do, he will not be circumsised unless there is a medical reason. I don't see the need to circumsise.

I have 2 boys, both are different, Mason is NOT and Charlie is.....after Mason having major issues and almost having to be circumcised at a later age (problems run in my family) I decided I didnt want Charlie to go through any of that and had him done...worst experience of my life but Im glad now that he doesnt have to go through anything Mason did.

I really didnt see a point in letting my son be in any kind of pain.

Uncircumcised here. Wouldn't even cross my mind to consider it to be honest. It's not medically neccessary for us, no religious meaning so it's staying attached to my sons body. xxx

Oh...Does that mean you opted out of letting him have the jabs too?

Sorry, but i think there is a difference between jabs which on the whole (im NOT anti-vax or against those who are!) but jabs are on the whole beneficial to the childs immune system.

Not slating circ, but it isnt. So i dont see the comparison here tbh.

i think RR's point was 'unnecessary' pain. :flower:
