Clary Sage Oil - The Facts??

At my hospital, they have a midwife who is specially trained in aromatherapy, and I was encouraged to make an appointment to see her to get what they call "the bomb" to use if I went overdue. The bomb is a mixture of clary sage and 2 other essential oils in grapeseed oil as a carrier. I was told to put a few drops in milk, then pour into a bath from my due date onwards. She said if used after a sweep then experience had shown that women are something like 4x more likely to go into labour within 24 hours of the sweep than if the bomb wasn't used (not sure what sort of sample that was based on, or where I have the exact figures correct).

I used it after my sweep with my first, and went into labour 12 hours later.

DS2 was born the night before my appointment with her, so she came to see me on the ward instead and brought me some lavender oil to help soothe my stitches instead.

I can find out what the other 2 oils were, but I have no idea what the quantities would be.

That's a good bit of information Ganton thank you :)

I will be trying it anyway, as of due date but no sooner :)
