Clear Blue Fertility Monitor?? Yay or Nay?

Hi Ladies

I had a MMC in sept and only 1 AF since then on Nov 15.... Went to the doctor for a test today and urine was negative.. Also had bloods drawn but haven’t gotten a call back yet.. I’m assuming it is negative anyways.

My question is, i used CB digital OPK this cycle I had a smiley face on CD 15 and CD 18 but obviously I did not ovulate then as that was 30 + days ago and all BFN on tests and no AF.

Do you think it’s worth purchasing a CB fertility monitor? I want some feedback on whether they are good or not?

:wave: You know I'm a fan of the CBFM! Took it a couple of months to learn my cycle, but it always matched up to my internet cheapies!

Hi bazz

I think the CBFM is brilliant. First month I used it I didn't get a peak. Second month I did and I got pregnant. That ended in mc but then used it again and on 4th month from when i started using it I got pregnant again! It is expensive (its cheaper online or look out for special offers!) especially with a long cycle as you use 20 sticks each cycle, but I found it so useful as it tells you when you are becoming fertile, & then when you ovulate. I also ovulate late (cd18-23) & without the CBFM I never would of known! I used OPK's before but gave up be day 20 when no ovulation.

I think 2 pregnancies in 4 months of use is a good advert!

I am going to costco tonight to check out if they have it in store.. I can order online from them for about 100 dollars cheaper than at the phramacys or walmart but I want to know if they sell it in store. (not a fan of online shopping) I can also purchace it today and if for some lucky reason I dont need it Ill return it

I bought it from boots chemist here in uk as got af & wanted it straight away!!! You can start it on cd2 or cd3 though if needs be. But hopefully you can just return it!

It does the same as an opk I think, measures the hormone surge. So still doesn't mean you definitely ovulate. But because it measures a rise in esterogen pre the hormone surge it gives you a good indication if it has happened. Think temping is the only way to confirm, v useful, but I found it a bit stressful as have to do it at same time each day & not move before doing it. Also after mc my temps didn't settle down to be useful.

Don't forget to buy the test sticks too.

Bear in mind, often 1st month, the monitor may not detect surge, just the estrogen rise while it gets used to your body, so may be worth having opks for the first month, just take them after getting the oestrogen rise.

But hopefully you won't need this advice anyway!

I got the monitor at Walmart and the test strips! Will keep them in the package until af arrives

Darn I wish they measured progesterone lol or something so I wouldn't had to temp

Ladies I need some help... I am going on vacation on Thurday and I have yet to start my period... should I bring my monintor on my trip? or can you start using it as late as day 7 in a cycle??

I would take the monitor with you hun, you can start using it upto cd5, but if it's your first cycle with it, i'd take it with you.
I think it's a great little machine, I got my bfp the first month we used it, sadly it ended in mc but it definately took the guess work out of things. I'm hoping to use it again next cycle, once my body sorts itself out after mc.

Hey bazz, def take it with. Like rachybaby says, can set it up to cd5. Just careful if the time zone is different, you wanna set it so it matches the time you'll wanna use it when back home. But you also have a 3 hour window either side.

I've just started using mine, first cycle after m/c and if I know I'm going to be out in my testing window I take it with me. Only cd6 so haven't got a high or a peak yet but am really reassured by everyone who has got their bfp so quickly after starting to you it.
