Hi all,

Wondering if you can help me. I have a fertility appt coming up, and from what was said at the last one, it is likely I will be prescribed clomid. The problem I have is that I have to make a few trips away from home with work in the next few months, and I'm going to be away over OV at least 2 of the next few months. I know you can only take clomid for a certain number of months, so natually, I want to make the most of it. Does anyone know if you have to take it for consecutive months, or if it's ok to have a month on, a month off, a month on etc etc?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I took one cycle then had a break for a cycle which turned into a long one so ended up being a 6 week break and then I started the clomid again for 3 consecutive cycles so I think its ok to take a break - didn't do me any harm!

I think its fine to take a break .. no point in putting artificial hormones into your body if you don't need to!

That sounds like good news then! One less thing to worry about, thanks ladies.

I had to ask my gyne this as my dh is in the military and will be away for a few months, she said it is fine to take a break and just take each month as it comes.
