Looking at your chart from last cycle I would say you definitely O'd! Aside from a blood test to prove it of course. More than likely your temps won't spike and stay elevated if you didn't. I have read where sometimes clomid can cause OPKs to not work correctly.
I have crappy high deductible insurance with a health savings account. Absolutely nothing is paid until I hit a $3,000 deductible. There aren't copays or prescription discounts and nothing infertility related even counts towards the deductible. So I completely understand trying to save money! My HSG test was more painful on my wallet than the actual procedure was! $1,000 and not a dime counts towards deductible.
I was actually a little relieved she didn't suggest scans. I am guessing she wouldn't give me shots. I asked about taking Femara instead of Clomid because it has higher success rates for PCOS women, but she told me I would have to go to the fertility specialist for that because she couldn't give it to me. I guess all OBGYNs are different. I know people who have got Femara and even shots from theirs. She did say she would refer me to him if the Clomid/Estradiol is unsuccessful after a few cycles.
I have noticed not very many docs seem to use the estradiol. I read up a lot, and it just hasn't been as mainstreamed. My OBGYN says she has found more success with using it, so I am glad she prescribed it. You could always ask your doc if they ever heard of it and what his thoughts are on it? My OBGYN has convinced me she keeps up with new technologies and meds... she told me to get on Pregnitude last June before I could even ask her about it! I had found it online and meant to ask. It was a brand new supplement to the US last May and she was recommending it to her PCOS patients already. Since this supplement has helped shorten my cycle, she now has my complete trust!
Her nurse on the other hand..........
Clomid has a tendency to dry up fertile cervical mucus and thin uterine lining and supposedly it can get worse each consecutive cycle of taking it. That is the estrogen depletion. I would guess that would make AF lighter if the uterine lining doesn't get as thick.
I am using OPKs starting on day 12 which is Friday for me. I still have cheapie Wondfo OPKs I bought in bulk last August, but I also bought ClearBlue Easy's new Advanced Digital OPKs to try as well. They were out of the original digital OPKs and I heard bad things about First Response Digital OPKs. I also have an OvaCue Fertility Monitor I purchased last year that I am using. It bases it's readings off of electrolytes. It is able to read estrogen and progesterone levels from it and I don't even have to pee on a stick! The monitor wasn't cheap by any means, but I think I am glad to have it right now if it is possible the Clomid may mess up the OPKs. We'll see!
