Hi, I know theres a clomid thread on here, but just wondered if anyone can help me?

I've been to the consultant today and he's prescribed me 50mg of clomid to take on days 2-5 starting next cycle.

We have been trying for almost 2 years and are longing to have a baby. Ive had all the blood tests and a laparoscopy to remove dermoid cysts. I'm slightly worried about the side effects of the clomid as the consultant said it can be life threatening if your ovaries swell? Is this common?

My other dilemma is we are getting married in 6 months and although we are desperate I'd ideally like to wait until 2 months before wedding before taking the clomid. Didnt mention this today as was sooo desperate to try something that didn't involve surgery!!

What's the chances of it working within 3 months if it does?
For those who have taken it.... What were your side effects?....when did you take it? And what was your sucsess rate?

I didn't worry too much about the side effects and only had bad headaches with them.

Just take them when your ready but in the meantime you my still get your BFP without them. If you want it, I'd take them hun.

I know 2 people close to me who got caught on their 2nd round of clomid, I on the other hand have never been caught on them and I've had 6-7 rounds of it.

I in a very similar position. We have been trying almost 2 years, I had dermoid cysts removed and I am on my first round of clomid, 50g day 2-7.

I am on day 13 and so far have had no side effects. From what I have read, overstimulation is a risk but it is rare and also, most success stories from clomid are in the first 3 months of taking it.

Did you have a dermoid cyst on both ovaries? I was told this was very rare and that I was a freak of nature lol!

Do you ovulate? What's your cycles like now you've had them removed? Mine have regulated but no ovulation!

When do you take your clomid. I've read at night is best to avoid side effects? I've been told cycle day 2-5 then blood test on day 21.

I had dermoid cysts on both ovaries too! One 10cm, one 5cm. Since I had them removed my cycles have regulated and I ovulate, but not every month.

I had another operation last month to remove adhesions caused by the first surgery and now I feel like my body is back in order and am crossing my fingers that clomid is the boost that it needs.

I have taken my clomid in the morning and had no side effects. I am having a scan on Thursday and a blood test on day 21.

I have just recently finished my sixth round of Clomid at 100 mg. I usually take mine during the day because I can't handle waking up hot and sweaty at night. I get horrible headaches and mood swings too. Maybe it won't be bad for you. The worst part for me is the hot flashes. I hate being hot so it bothers me more than most.

I've only been told to go in for bloods on day 21. No mention of a scan is this normal or should I ask for a scan too? Is the scan to check follicles?

My FS just told me to do the day 21 bloods but when I asked about a scan he agreed to do one in the first clomid cycle to check the follicles, so it's worth asking.

I take Clomid in the morning but every month I think the side effects get worse I have hot flushes & very bad moods who I only take out on my OH & feel very depressed.

I've just finished round 4 of Clomid. On my 1st round I had a scan to check follicles then every month I have to get day 21 bloods done.

I have just finished my 3rd cycle, I have had no side effects. I take them CD2-6 and I take them in the evening. I am ovulating on it, which is good news.
