I'm hoping to use cloth diapers from the beginning, but I was wondering if I need to use disponsibles following circumcision since you need to generally put some cream there during the recovery? I know you can't use the diaper cream with cloth so I wasn't sure if the same was the case for what you would use after the circumcision? Any experience or advice?

Please no comments about opinions on circumcising. It's not up for debate. I just want to know about after care and cloth diapers. Thanks!

I don't know what kind of cream is prescribed with circumcision but maybe you can try a liner to prevent it from getting on the cloth?

You can use gauze over the pp so it doesn't get on the cloth because you use petrolium base product so it doesn't stock to anything while it heals. Or disposable liners. Petrolium is hard to get out of the cloth

Hi mama :) Firstly, congratulations on your little boy on the way! It is so much fun to have a son.

I realise you stated that you did not want opinions on circumcision, but I hope you don't mind me posting a few resources for you - obviously completely up to you if you would like to look further in to them but they are really interesting and packed full of useful info :flower: Wishing you all the best!

The video linked in one of those links made me weep. Sorry OP I know that isn't the point of your thread...but my god...devastating :-(.

The Dr who did my son's circumcision has a really good webpage about pre and after care. He advised us to use disposables for a few days as they keep dryer on the inside compared to cloth diapers. Here's his website if you want to read more on the after care

Thanks that website is helpful!

We just put a good blob of vaseline on the head and it was fine. You can use gauze, but we used disposable diapers.

Request a nerve block numbing injection and see if they can also use the numbing cream. Our guy never fussed, and ate & slept fine. :hugs:
