So Doug is 5 months this week and we started introducing 1 bottle of formula a day and will prob have to increase to 2 due to various commitments.

But just wondering any one success fully combi feed for a while. Or was is just a quick slippery slop to fully FF.

Everybody has different experiences of combi feeding so you will need to assess your journey as you go and what you want to do.

I combi fed just fine. DS went to daycare and I FF for that and if we went out at night and left DS with grandparents or whatnot, but continued to BF him until 22 months. For me, I enjoyed the BFing so I found it really easy to combi feed because I would prioritise a BF over a FF. Other mums I know found that they just found it easier to swap over to full time FF.

I think combi-feeding is only likely to be a slippery slope in the early weeks. When bf is not fully established.

I introduced formula to DD1 at about 5 or 6 months and continued to breast feed until she was about 10 months old. I stopped breastfeeding out of choice.

I had supply issues from day 1 when I had my daughter so I have supplemented with formula all along and still do now for 1 feeding a day. The rest of the time she get breast milk. I met with a lactation specialist who helped me a lot and it increased my supply and my daughters doctor is good with me supplementing. She is happy and healthy and its what worked for us!! Good luck!!
