Does anybody have any experience with feeding half and half? We are struggling like crazy with BF because he's so lazy at the breast, constantly falls asleep and just feeds on and off for hours and hours at a time. Would it be possible to make up bottles of half EBM and half formula? I'd still like him to get my milk but I would like him to have more consistent feeds. He can sleep all day with hardly anything but is then feeding all night on and off, between little cat naps. I'm switching to sleeping when he sleeps but that means I can never go anywhere or do anything during the day because otherwise I have to sacrifice sleep. He can survive on cat naps, obviously I can't.

Has anyone ever done combination feeding successfully? Any advice would be great, thank you. xx

Yes that is fine - just do 50/50 in the bottles. We had to do it for Alex in neonatal, she needed the formula part to speed up her weight gain. We did it for a while when we got her home too, but I stopped expressing, because it takes up your time between feeds and I needed some sleep. I felt like I was aking bottles, feeding, expressing, making bottles, feeding..... you get the drift!

It takes a lot of effort to exclusively express, and you will need to do it often so you dont 'dry up!'
