Not sure what to do.

My little one has been on formula for 3 weeks now and only goes poo every 4 days. The poo is like peanut butter and when he goes there is alot of it!

Ther are times he seems to get a tummy ache and cries. He has always had alot of wind. Should I be changing to a comfort milk or is this a sign that he is lactose intolerant (I am)?

Thanks

The discomfort is the key in this I think. If not going for 4 days doesn't bother him, then I wouldn't worry - different bodies have different patterns. But if it seems to be hurting him it might be an option. The other thing you could try is a little cool boiled water, which can help keep things moving. Usually HV will suggest this ahead of comfort formula, but if it doesn't help it would be next on the list.

Re the lactose thing - comfort formula does contain a lot less lactose so you might find that it helps even if that's the case. Identifying lactose intolerance is a trial and error thing isn't it (?), so I'd say it's best to try whatever other things might help first and see how it goes.
