I think I managed to find my baby's heart beat at around 9 weeks and a few days and it sounded like mine but was much faster. It sounded the same for about a week and a half but I listened to it tonight and it sounded slightly different...now it sounded like the 'galloping horse' other people have mentioned. Beore it sounded like a 'thud thud thud' really fast now it sounds like it's got 2 beats so a bit more a 'da-duh da-duh' sound really fast.

My question is this...which one is the heart beat? Is what I heard before wrong? Does the heart beat change near 13 weeks? Is it because baby's bigger I can hear it clearer? Or is there another reason?
Thanks in advance :)

the swooshing noise would be the placenta, the babys heartbeat would sound like yours but faster and you may hear another noise with the heartbeat. I found mine today and im 9 weeks. the farther along you are the more easier it should be to find. Sorry if I did not answer your question correctly. :flower:

My babys heartbeat has slowed down a little since i first found it at 9w3d. At first it sounded like a washing machine going real fast. Now it seems to be beating more stronger if you know what i mean? Slower, but stronger. At 8w3d baby hb was 170 and at my 12w6d ultrasound it was 140. Baby could've just been sleeping, but i've noticed a change since i first heard it.

Thank you for the replies :) it was easier to find well when I realised what it was! And it sounded much clearer it was just strange :-/ I've got my next midwife appointment on 1st April and she said she would listen to baby with a doppler then :D
