Hi everyone

I'm a bit confused about a job I've applied for and the pay it says between £14,000 and £17,000 per annum pro rata and it's a 22.5 hour a week job. I'm assuming it will be dependant on experience too

Thank you

its its pro rata its based on the hours

Have a look on there

£14,000-£17,000 is what you'd get if you were working full time, it will depend on your establishment as to what is full time, my old job in a council it was 37 hours, but in the uni I work in now it is 35 hours.

Remember your annual leave will be pro rata too.

It'll depend on the company's policy and your previous experience as to where you will start on the pay scale, in my current job they make you start at the bottom, probation is a year and you negotiate your salary at that point. I have never negotiated my salary, I am such a wuss!!!

If you can tick all of the person specification, quals/experience required then you can push nicely to enter the role at the top end of the banding. Most companies will try to go for the lowest end to start as it's cheaper but if you are successful in getting the role it's certainly something you could negotiate at the offer stage.
