Hi all
I am from Cornwall and really want a Cornish name for our baby. We are really happy with boys' names:
Jago - Cornish for James (Grandad's name/OH middle name)
Jowan - Cornish for John ( Papa's name)
However, I am stuck for girls' names as I don't like many of the traditional names, such as Morwenna, Demelza etc as I know lots of girls from school with these names. I am really keen on Bryher (pr: 'Briar'), it is an island off of Cornwall (Isles of Scilly) and sounds very pretty and natural - just what I am after.
What do you think? Will the poor girl always be having to spell out her name and have people mispronounce it?
It will be Bryher May.
Opinions please!
Thanks x
