Hi Beautiful mummies to be!

Ive not been around for a while...had alot going on with a family bereavement  i've been trying to drop in every now and again to see how everyones getting one and am really pleased to see lots more successes  also sad with those of you having a tough journey :hugs:

I have my consent signing on monday 28th Feb *EEEEEK!* Im with Birmingham Womens ACU and following the info evening i still have a million questions which i hope we can ask at the consent meeting.

Just a quick question though...if im already mid cycle on my consent appointment, do you reckon i'll be able to start downregging same cycle or will i have to wait for a fresh one? i wont be CD21 for another week after consent signing....praying i can start this cycle [-o< [-o<

What has been your experience of this?

xxx

hi and good luck for your appointment, each clinic does things differently for me i had my appointment in nov and even though we are private i had to wait until jan (which then turned out to be feb but that was because af was late) i think it might have had something to do with christmas though and have seen lots of people start that very cycle, i hope you can get started soon x

Thank you for replying raf-wife :) hope we get the go ahead for this cycle!! Wow embryo transfer on valentines day!! I hope this is your month I really do :) xxxx

Hi Fairydust,

I had a cycle of IVF at B'ham Womens in December & to be honest, I don't think you'll be able to start this cycle unless....

you have had your virus screening blood tests done already (ours were done after our consent signing appt)
you also need enough time for your drugs to be delivered & an injection training appointment.

They will probably tell you to phone on CD1 of your next cycle & book your injection training for CD21.

It doesn't feel like it now, but it will fly.

Best of luck. x

Just checked back on my calendar.

Consent signing : 11th Oct (was CD21)
Blood tests for viral screening : 11th Oct
20th Oct: CD1 - told ACU & they sent prescription direct to Healthcare at Home
30th Oct : drugs arrived
8th Nov : CD21 & injection training appt/started DR

You have to DR for at least two full weeks & then have a scan on the Wednesday + bring menopur to this appt so they can show you how to mix it.

24th Nov: DR scan - usually start stims this day, but I hadn't DR'd properly & had to do another week. DR scans are always on a Wednesday.
1st Dec: DR scan, all ok, started stimms.
10th Dec: 1st stims scan
13th Dec: 2nd stims scan & ok to do trigger that night.
15th Dec: EC

...the rest is then individual depending on how many you get etc... could be a 2, 3 or 5 day transfer, the embryologist will call you the day after EC to give you your fertilisation report.

I'm assuming this is your first go, so forgive me if you know all this already. If it IS your first go, I hope I've helped. If you have any more questions about ACU, feel free to ask.
x

Hi Teapot

Im so sorry your first IVF cycle didnt work :hugs: I truely hope you have a little bubba soon. Did you have any frozen embies left which they can use for your future cycle? (ive not been on here for a while so sorry if you've mentioned this already)

Thank you so much for the info. You have no idea how helpful it is. Still living with MiL so maybe starting in a fresh cyce will give me time to figure out how to get my meds delivered and stored without her realising (she doesnt know we're doing ICSI).

lots of love

xxxxx

Hi Fairydust,

Unfortunately we didn't have any frosties (they will only freeze top/amazing/fabulous ones & my poor little spare embie only scored 3 out of 4, boo hiss) so we are currently in a bit of limbo.
PCT for North & East B'ham only funds one go. We have a private appointment booked for the end of March, but as yet no funds!

When Healthcare at Home phoned me, even though I'm still registered at my parents address, I was able to get mine delivered to my own house or could even have had them to work.
...Regards hiding it from your MIL, the trigger shot needs to be kept in a fridge, so do you have a friend that knows? maybe they could keep it in their fridge for you & just go to their house the evening you have to take it?

xx

Thank you so much for your advice Teapot...i will probably keep the trigger shot in my mums fridge and pick it up when needed.Im going to see if i can get the drugs delivered to my local pharmacy and pick them up from there. If not they'll have to come home as work dont know about ICSI.

Im sorry you didnt have any frosties this time. Praying your next cycle is more successful for you and that you have plucked up the courage to speak to OH about it. It must be so difficult...but you know i believe our little angels are waiting just as patiently to come into our lives.

XXXXX
