the first time i ever heard of sids was in 1991 when anne diaminds son sebastian grew his wings.

i think she meant she wasnt aware what the appreviation meant the term 'slang' was maybe not thought through properly really as slang is a flippant use of a word and in a sensitve subject maybe not the right word.

everyone want happy healthy babies and if we learn something from this thread we didnt know before thats a good thing. i dont think anyone meant offence

Ok.....I think maybe this has gone on long enough. Hayley, I apologise if my question or the doh smilie upset you. I think I am as well informed about cot death as anyone else who has not been affected by it and just read about it in magazines, tv programmes etc.
I just never made the connection between cot death and SIDS hence my question. I thought I could come on this website and ask any questions of experienced mothers, but in future I'll just google them.
