hiya, I got given a ikea cot from someone at work who said there friend was giving one away in perfect condition expensive ikea one and only used a few times , so i collected it today but had been in there garage a bit when i got it out the box it looks fine apart froma bit of mould on 3 wooden planks is it ok to clean it off and use it as im sure it would just wipe away ? i just wanted to double check this would be ok for the baby the mattress looks fine tho ?? xxx

:headspin:

It should be fine especially if you disinfect it, if the mould is deep i woudln't risk it TBH
Also you will need to get a new matteress, you should never use a second hand matteress

get some milton to clean off the mould and just give the whole cot a wipe down in it but never use a second hand mattress always buy a new one
xx

As said before, cot mattresses should be one of the few things you should definately buy new. I found that they were cheapest from ikea. I bought this one; https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/20113925 - 7cm thickness. There's also 5cm thickness (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/70113937) and 9cm thickness (https://www.ikea.com/gb/en/catalog/products/60113933). xx

thanks everyone i will wipe it down and buy a new mattress and get rid of the old one xxxx

ps will all matresses fit all cots ?

no ull need to find out what size it is hun, theres a few diff sizes :D

I agree with the others, try and clean the cot the best you can but def buy a new mattress

thanks yh its just a tiny bit of mould on the suface of 3 poles so should clean off easily if i new this i prob wouldnt of even had it but they said it was perfect condition and only used twice so i may aswell just clean it now :headspin: xxx
