cow&gate v aptamil??

Is there really a difference.
I'm aware they are made by the same people and aptamil is 'closest to breast' but is it?
I'm more than willing to pay the extra pound for my LO but it is EXACTLY the same then there really is no point ...

Anyone found Aptamil suits their LO better than cow&gate etc?

No formula can claim to be "closest to breast milk" and companies like aptamil were forced to remove this statement from their packaging a few years ago due to the statement being false. All formulas are pretty much the same, and Aptamil and Cow and Gate are the most like each other out of them all. Aptamil has slightly more LCPs (21mg compared to Cow and Gate 15mg) and the consistancy is thinner that Cow and Gate I believe, but apart from that they are the same. It really depends on your baby as to what formula they get on with. You could pick a formula at random and your baby has as much chance of getting on with it than any other. xxx

Hi. we were going to use aptimal but bought the sterilised bottles from cow and gate to use in hospitalbut as we were kept in for longer than we thought i kept him on cow and gate as he was settled.
Five weeks on he is very windy but dont think thats down to the brand of milk but type of milk so we are going onto comfort milk.
He has bedn putting on weight and seems happy.
I looked into both milks and as you said they are made in same factory and ingrediants are the same.
