It doesn't bother Kayleigh and it isn't too bad at all. I mean the top of her head is scaly a little but nothing serious. I have left it be, because I have heard it can clear on its own but it hasn't yet. Do I need to do something about it, or can I just brush like I have been gentle out of the tub and wait for it to go on it's own? I don't like the thought of leaving oil in her hair overnight...

Anyone have some good advice on how to help with it and how long did your LO have it?

My daughter had a bit of this. My mum put baby oil on her head then brushed her hair with a baby brush. It flaked all over the place but it cleared up. Not had any problems since. I also used some dentinox shampoo for cradle cap, but to be honest I didn't notice any difference with this.

Charlie had it quite bad when he was about 5 months, dentinox shampoo never really worked and it smelled quite strong/perfumed..i know what you mean about leaving the oil on, it's not very nice but leaving olive oil on overnight and washing & gentle brushing the next day did the trick! when I left the oil on Charlie I tucked a towel really tight over his cot matress to save the oily stains - cradle cap disappeared pretty quickly after that - hope your LO's does too

yeah this is what i did with my daughter... worked a treat xxx
better than covering it up with hats, hers was unsightly xx :hugs:

LO had it until he was 5 or 6 months old, nothing worked so eventually I just left it and it went away on it's own. I know it's unsightly but it doesn't bother babies.

Beau had it and I never left baby oil on over night. I used a soft baby brush and worked the oil into his scalp really good. Left it on about 5 minutes. Then I brushed with the baby brush really good to get all the flakes worked up. Then I washed his hair about 3 or 4 times to get all the oil out. (that was the toughest part because it's hard to wash out) no problems since. the pediatrician insists he still has it but me and my best friend both have tried to figure out what she's talking about because there are no scales or flakes at all. I think she's imagining things. She keeps pushing me to use dandruff shampoo on it but I honestly don't see anything on there anymore and have no intention of doing that.

Freya had quite bad cradle cap. It didn't bother her at all, and my efforts at treating it did. We just left it. It went away. :)

i just left my los, it's nothing to worry about and it just went away eventually

my LO's had it for months and dentinox isnt working so ive decided to just leave it. I would try the baby oil but she has masses and masses of hair and i can imagine it would take a few washes to get all the oil out!

I used this ~

I used it about 4 times in one day to clear my LO's cradle cap. Amazing stuff. Gentle but effective. Literally just rub it on, leave it for 5 mins then brush it out. I didn't wash it out until the evening.

Would highly recommend.

Jacob had it pretty bad I left it for a while but his hair wasn't growing back and it wasn't shifting by itself. So I massaged his head with Johnson baby shampoo everynight and within a couple of days it was gone and his lovely hair has grown back :)

I tried the shampoo which made it worse and then I just rubbed it gently in the bath with his sponge and it was gone after a month
