I wanted a way to make our flat look more Christmassy, because we only really decorate our lounge, so hopefully I'll get a load of Christmas cross stitching bits done by the time we've got our decorations up. :) Though, I think I'm being rather slow so far!

I also want to do this 'Joyeux Noel' banner (left, in the pic), but I'm going to make it for next year (ambitious?), because it's huge! :D

Oooh can I join? Cross stitching is ace!

I am currently doing a Shaun the Sheep bookmark for my friend, and there's a big Chinese character one I've had on the go for a while too!

    Wheee! I've finished something!! :happydance:

    https://a8.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-ash4/378582_10150956608505114_556800113_21484581_582218557_n.jpg

It certainly took longer than the estimated 5 hours the magazine suggested!

(Sorry it's huge! It's directly pulled from Facebook.)

I've been quite busy on the sewing front.
    1) A hardanger christmas dec (gift)
    2) A dragon cross stitch bookmark (also gift, forgot to take pic of finished piece)
    3) Birth sampler for my daughter
    4) Pair of bookmarks (gifts)
    5) I'm back on the crewel work I started just before I got pregnant (I can't sew when pregnant)

After this I've a single embroidery cushion to complete (about a third to do) that I started 3 years ago! *cough* and my mum wants me to do a new piece for her birthday. She's chosen some hymn lyrics she wants so I need to pluck some design skills out of the air for thinking how to do it.

They're lovely Susan although I've never seen that sort of cross stitching before. I always do it with the crosses touching each other if you know what I mean. Like this:

My second project - finished! I just need to find some thin ribbon to hang it with. :) I'm going to make more, but all different designs.

    Beautiful work!!!

I love the look of cross sitch but I can never get my had around the patterns it always seems to get muddled up somewhere even when I start in the middle in doesnt end up looking right when i've tried it in the past, i'l have to make an effort to try again and actually finish the pattern this time. :D

    hi
I'm a very new beginner to starting cross stitching again. I started when i was 9 via my aunt teaching me then i gave up and started again when i was in college about 5/6years ago.. I'm currently doing a baby sample for a friend who's due at the end of June :).
I don't have much time or the experience to do a huge piece so i stick to cards or mini items and bookmarks.. I've just finished a few Xmas card designs. Organized i know haha but want to be sorted this year :)
I've added the latest I've just finished :)

They're brilliant hun well done :) I know what you mean about nit having the time.

I've almost finished a large piece I've been on with for about 1 1/2 years. I was hoping to finish it before Noah aided but he came a little earlier than planned. This is the most recent pic I have of it but it's nearly finished now I'm just finishing the border:
