daily mail headline today

The thing is, loads of research is being done all the time - the media just choose which research to pick up and which to leave. There's nothing newsworthy about research that says IVF is fine etc. But I'm sure a lot of research does say that. You can usually get some report to support any claim you want to make.

I made the mistake of reading some of the comments and as I'm having a down day anyway, they made me cry. People have no idea. I bet most of those who say 'just adopt', or 'just accept you cant have everything you want' probably have popped out babies with no problem. Even before I knew I had any fertility problems, I would never have made such heartless comments.

I have a little brother and sister who were IVF babies. They are 12 now and absolutely perfect, gorgeous human beings, but if a lot of these people had their way, they would never have been born.

I hope it puts no one off IVF

Hayz - don't let them upset you. They have absolutely no idea what they are talking about.

The whole article is typical tabloid rubbish - as you've all pointed out, the actual increase is so small as to be negible.

Does make me angry to see this kind of crap though.

It is a little worrying, but it will not change my mind about IVF.

It's like anything - there are risks in every procedure surgical or otherwise but the risks are quite minimal - i read into it last year before the article even came out.

I won't forget the headlines about how deodorant causes cancer.... and lets not forget how drinking during pregnancy is okay, then it isn't, then once a week is okay.... i'm with fJL. Ploy to sell papers, scare mongering - its ridiculous. You can have sex un-assisted, fall pregnant and still have babies born with issues/difficulties etc. Nothing is a perfect science - if it were... well, i would be perfect

I've just read this online - some of the comments really upset - what awful horrid people!

The Daily Mail has a reputation for over sensationalising stories - the article certainly has not put me off the possibility of IVF x
