Decided when to start buying baby stuff ;)

I am now 27 weeks and do not have anything for baby yet...Hope I am not the only one We decided to go baby shopping on the weekend before my 35th week...This is what I did in my first prgnancy too.And second one was about to be the same but my second baby surprised us at not even 27 weeks...Anyone here who waits like I do till 35 or so weeks to start shopping???

I'm only 30 weeks and everything is sorted for baby!! I didn't want to leave it too late as I wouldn't want to shop.

I already find just walking around Tesco for an hour kills me!!

I've only bought Moses basket and not rushing to buy anymore at the moment!!

We were planning on waiting until I was around 35 weeks, but there was a 15% off all nursey and pram items sale at mothercare this weekend (think it's still running) so we ordered the cot, matress, and complete travel system (carrycot, frame, stroller attachement and car seat) all for £542 - which was too good a bargain to pass up as we didn't want to chance putting off ordering the exact items we wanted and paying full price in just a few weeks time when we can buy now at a discount.

We also bought the baby chnaging dresser which is mothercare. New it costs £250 and we bought on gumtree "second hand" but looks brand new for £50 (inc. delivery) again too good to pass up. The dresser and cot are both solid pine as well.

We've decided not to buy any clothes or other bits until around week 35 though.

Gosh well done you I couldn't wait lol I've just hit 34weeks and am starting to panic that I havnt got my hospital bag sorted lol I've still got a few 'bits' to get bottles, towels, baby bath but I think that's about it, almost all women make it to term so I think if you want to wait then why not! If baby does come early you will have to send oh out to get stocked up x

i had pretty much everything pre 30 weeks .. but I know that if I hadn't i'd have started worrying about not having what I needed.

I started buying things properly only a few weeks ago after my sister's baby arrived 10 days early and she was totally caught out! She had an emergency c-section and needed everything from baby gros to blankets! So I have learnt my lesson and am pretty much sorted now (10 weeks early, lol!) as my work schedule in Sept leaves no room for shopping as I get ready to leave work for a year. It's up to you really, but tbh I just walked into town today (10 mins walk!) to pay the rest of the money on our pram and that knackered me out!!

Me! I am 27W + 6 today and the plan is to wait until 36 weeks to start buying stuff. That's when I am going on maternity leave!

We have some stuff already: travel system, crib, a swing for baby.
I'm missing a few stuffs that we are getting in a couple weeks. I dont want to wait too late because I'm already uncomfortable enough !

The only thing we need to buy is cot (in no rush for) and a spare moses basket which will be ordered anytime soon. Been fully prepared for the last few weeks.

I wouldnt wait till then hun, i had my 2nd at 36wks and my 1st at 38wks imo leaving it till 35/36wks is leaving it a bit late.

Im 30+1 and dont have everything i need yet, i will be getting rest of my hospital bag bits this week, and the bottles then just have pram, car seat and base to pick up.
def better to have the essentials got by 34wks at least just incase.

There is no way I could have waited that long. One because I am too impatient and two wouldn't have been able to afford everything all at the end. So we pretty much have everything done and bought, only have 2 things left to get and they are small easy items I see getting them next week probably.

I've only ordered the major items, crib, dresser, and changing dresser. So still have lots of shopping to do

we are waiting until after our baby shower on the 28th to get the rest of the things we need. didn't want to buy too much now as we don't know what we will get at the shower. I will be 33 weeks at the shower, then it will be a shopping free for all!

Treelo - I am a little nervous too but I am really not exaggerating when I say that I have had no time!
However, I spoke to my sil today and she has promised to bring me newborn clothes and buy me a bouncer on sept 2nd.
On oct 1'st DH is going to pick up diapers/wipes/baby shower stuf. Same day I am going with a friend to buy car seat/travel system, bassinet, towels, bibs, diaper bag etc..
Will be ordering the rest(My brest friend, bottles, breast pump, changing station) on Internet on Oct 2nd! Phew!

We started around 20 weeks as we found items on sale. I wanted to get most of the stuff done while I still had the energy. We just did a big run to Babies r Us yesterday. All we really NEED now is an infant car seat and a bouncer or swing. We are 34 weeks tomorrow.
