FOB and myself have finally come to an agreement on how much he will give me for LO.. So now, do I have to declare the money FOB gives me for LO? If so, to who? Tax credits etc I'm assuming? Does anyone know whether this will affect my income support and child tax credits? As I'm struggling as it is :(

They used to take into account any money fob gave you when working out benefits, but now they don't , so any money fob gives you won't affect your benefits, my fob gives me money weekly for our 3 kids and it doesn't affect the benefits I receive, I can't remember about declaring it but it can't harm to let them know x

P.s I'd probably call tax credits to let them know, I'm not sure if there's a certain amount that would affect your money, like say if he was giving you loads of money ? But I doubt it x

Talk to a worker for the income support or tax credit . Most of the time you have to declare it .

If you don't declare it and they find out you could have to pay the money back

get him to buy nappies/milk etc tht wnt affect anything x

i reported it and due to what they call anticipatory income (whether he pays or not) i no longer qualify for assistance my lo has insurance this year and next year I pray they don't take her off. i honestly can't afford that and child care. i'd probably have to move back home. i just don't understand how women who lay and have babies where i'm from have everything under the sun but because i'm trying hard for a better life i get no help
