Hey Twinkles! Yeah, DH took me to my HSG at the beginning of my November Clomid cycle. Everything looked totally fine. I really hoped that I'd get the "HSG luck" that so many ladies talk about, but I guess it just wasn't our time yet. Hopefully our home IUI's will do the trick this month. At least we're trying something new.

I wish you all the luck in the world sprinkles! Fx and hugs!

Hello ladies I am sorry I have been away! I am out of town on a business trip and had to cancel this weeks iui and also will not be home I time to bd  so we are setting up for feb the second week at the end for the IUI. I wish many of you BFP

Hi Ladies! Just checking in... My new cycle should start the end of this month. Hopefully this cyst will have resolved by then! In the meantime, I scheduled an appt with my RE on Jan 25 (my 30th birthday ) to discuss further testing options. I'm looking into possibly doing some reproductive immunology testing. Hopefully that will give us some answers and, more importantly, lead to a BFP!

Good luck to everyone who has just started their new cycle!

Sprinkles - I'm glad Femara is going so well for you so far! I'm sure you will respond well to it too. My RE didn't give me Follistim either with my first Femara cycle or my first Clomid cycle. They probably just want to see how we respond without it first. Your RE will probably give it to you next time, unless of course you get your BFP this cycle!

I don't know much about reproductive immunology either. Something I said at work a few days before my last appt made me wonder if my REALLY good immune system could be preventing me from conceiving. It was kinda strange because I decided to bring it up at my appt, but before I could my RE actually mentioned it as an option for further testing. He said to make an office visit appt if we wanted to discuss it, so we are going to go for it. I'm afraid that if I do have an overactive immune system that either kills off the sperm or prevents any embryos from implanting that IVF won't even work. I would hate to spend all that money when there is no possibility of it working. From the research that I've done there are some (expensive) treatments that could help lower my immunity, thereby making conception possible if it comes to that. I want to find out either way though.

Wow- I have never heard of that. I knew that antibodies generally kill off some of the sperm, but I didn't know that they could kill them all or cause the egg not to implant. How crazy! Let me know how the appointment goes. I can't believe how many things can go wrong with this whole TTC thing. It's amazing we've survived as a species! :haha: Are there any other tests they might do?

I'm not sure if this helps but my dh's sa came out with moderate agglutination and he was prescribed antibiotics, then the next sa it was no agg, then BfP. I'm really not sure what caused it might just be our time but I know agglutination has a lot to so with antibodies.

From what I understand from dr. Google agglutination is caused by
Sperm antibodies being present. Sorry of off topic but it is a little related.

I hope you girls are doing ok. Hugs !

Sprinkles - I agree! With all the issues and trials we go through just to conceive even our first child it is amazing our species has survived! :dohh:

I don't know all the tests yet, but someone else said they had an immune panel, clotting panel, and NK cell testing done for their reproductive immunology testing. I'll update you with more information (hopefully!) after my appt on Friday.

Twinkles - I'll have to look more into the agglutination thing too. I haven't heard anything really about that yet. How are things going for you?

Hi Prayer and Gals:

I'm doing ok today. I was right about being early compared to my lmp. First scan today saw a gest sac and yolk sac. Was hoping to see more, but happy and blessed to see something today.

How are all of you doing today?

Hi! Sorry I haven't been around in a while. There was just nothing new to report since I have to wait for this cyst to resolve. I did go talk to my RE yesterday about additional testing. He said the immune testing can cost around $5000! and insurance typically doesn't pay for it. So he advised doing limited immune testing to start with. I will be having blood drawn for a Natural Killer Cell Activation with IVIg/Intralipid Suppression test. This test alone costs $689 if I go through my insurance which they may or may not pay. If I choose not to send it to my insurance company though, they offer a discount and I would only have to pay $255. I plan to contact my insurance company to see if they will cover anything before I decide whether to send it to insurance. I will also be doing another CD3 FSH level and AMH to see if my numbers have gotten worse.

DH will be doing additional testing as well. He will have a sperm binding test and DNA fragmentation test done. His tests are pretty expensive too. The DNA frag test alone will cost $847 through insurance (and again, they may not pay anything!) or $175 if we don't bill the insurance. I'm not sure about the binding test cost. It will definitely all be worth it though if it will help us figure out what treatments we need to do in order to get our miracle baby.

My new cycle should start Jan 30 or 31. Praying this cyst is gone and we can move on to a treated cycle.

Oh, and I hit the big 3-0 yesterday. I thought I would be more broken up over it since I thought I'd have at least 2 children before I hit 30 but it either hasn't sunken in yet or I have already mourned enough and accepted the fact that my plans apparently didn't fit in God's will for my life. Just holding on to the hope now that a baby is actually in our future.

Sprinkles - How did your U/S go today?

Praying everything is going well for each of you!

I agree! It is absolutely crazy how much they get away with marking up the prices on these tests and procedures. $3000 for IVF would be so much more doable!!

Sorry things didn't go well with the ultrasound today but glad at least that you were able to handle it better emotionally. I take Follistim too. It is in the injectable pen form. The needles are so small you can usually barely feel it! They had mentioned starting me on the Gonal F instead of the Follistim but I think it wasn't available in my area at the time. Hopefully you will be able to get it though if it is cheaper!

Good luck!
