DH won't be here for the birth......

Aw hun... I don't have any experience of this but it sounds like you have a lot of great ladies here to support you going through the same. I wish you all the best and yes you will be very busy.... you will end up having this fantastic bond with baby it will be your poor hubby once he gets home that will struggle.

The skype thing with your midwife sounds ace.

....or the first 6 months of our LO's life :( This is our first child, my husband is in the military and is deploying in Jan and baby is due at the end of Feb. I just can not believe they would actually deploy them knowing he is going to miss his first borns birth and half of the first year!!!! How am I ever going to go through labor without my best friend?? Not to mention the sleepless nights and learning how to be a parent??

I would love to be able to at least go home to my family to have people around and I may be able to do that at some point for a week or so after the baby is born but I need to be down here handling things with the house and I have furbabies that I can't abandon to go home!!

Arrrgh, sorry for the OT rant but I just can not believe it.:nope:

aww hun this is awfull :( I can not begin to imagine how you feel, my OH deployed to afghan in may but i have been very lucky and he will be back for the birth. I think its awfull how they take away your partner for the first 6 months of your babys life, how cruel! Thinking of you hun xx

My hubby is in 2 Princess Of Wales' Royal Regiment (2 PWRR).

I'd be the same about the laptop... could get a cheaper one and use the rest of the money for the baby :p haha that's what I would've said.
