I can get a free ultrasound Friday (5 weeks 6 days) but don't know if I would even see anything?

I just noticed your post on the main board page. You can see the heartbeat, but I would not do it just yet. I went when I was at your stage and the fetal pole or heartbeat was not visible. It cause alot of undue heartache for an entire week. I'm 38 weeks now, so all is well, but i personally think it's to early for you.

At 5+4 I saw a very faint HB but no foetal pole yet (way too early)
Good luck

I went in at 6 weeks to see only the sac and pole. i would wait. It caused a lot of worry for me only seeing that. I am 11 weeks and baby is active and hb of 167 last i went in. I would really wait until 8 weeks. More to see!

I didn't see anything but the yolk sack and gestational sack at 5+1 but I have another appt at 6+2 (7 weeks) according to my dr but I know I'm not 7 since I ovulated later...anyhow I say go for it, I am happy to see my baby anytime no matter how small or big :) just dont be set on seeing anything in particular so you don't get worried, we went in not expecting to see its hb yet so we were fine :)

With Thomas, I saw the sack, and a little blob (him) with a beating heart at 5+4.

I went at 6w exactly and we saw and heard the heartbeat. Every baby develops at a different pace so try to remind yourself that if you don't see anything it could be too early and don't freak out

best of luck!! I had a scan a few days ago measured 5w4d and it just looked like and empty sack so ive been bawling all day today. i have hopes that it will develop more. pretty much the 9 week marker is best for first ulrasound cause you cant see nothing much before that.

My first scan was at 6w6d saw baby and hb. I would do it but just not freak out if you dont see much as its early

I had my first scan at 5+1 because I just had a miscarriage a month and a half ago and my doc wanted to make sure I was really pregnant, only say the gestational sac and yolk sac.

Flew to my country and had a scan on Monday which was 6w and heard the heartbeat :cloud9:

I guess 7 weeks is better for most tho :)

Best of luck!:flower:

Hugs!! Please don't cry!! I googled this and it is very normal not to see a HB at 5.5 weeks!! I'm sure you'll see your bean clearly next time! :hugs:

I would wait until about 7 weeks if I were you, thats what I'm doing.

i had mine at six weeks but it depends entirely on if the baby is more up front than in the back. Its normal not to hear the heartbeat till later and most doctors wont do it until later due to the stress it causes some people

Hello hun i had my emergency ultrasound at 5 week 6 days, on tuesday and i saw the baby, it was very small but you can see the flicking of the heart!!! But i would recommend going after you see so much more xx

I guess when you're really excited about it, or you fear something's wrong, never is too early... Though I made my appointment for 9th of April. I'll be exactly 8 weeks by then, so I'll have a good picture of what's going on :winkwink: I want to see it as soon as possible too, but if I don't see something or the other, I know I'll freak out, so better hold myself in check

I had a vaginal ultrasound at 5+4 and was told gestational sack, yok sac and fetal pole, but they never mentioned heartbeat, probably to early, the blob i seen on screen was utterly teeny!

Hoping it's a different story in just over 2 weeks time when i get my 12 weeks scan! xxx

I had a vaginal scan at 5 +3days I was told we would not have seen anything on a normal ultrasound.
I was lucky and saw the gestational sac, yolk sac, fetal pole and a heartbeat!
As it was so early the egg sac was also still there so she worked out it had come from the right ovary!
I think it depends some people see nothing or an empty sac early on and it makes them worry but I think everyone is different!
Good luck

I had a scan at 5+5 and saw H/B. Good luck xx
