Did anyone stop bf at 6 months?

I'm planning to bf for 6 months and then switch to ff. I do give one ff at night right now. What I did with my first was similar to what a pp said about dropping a feed every few days. You need to probably start dropping feeds with the intention that it might take a few weeks to be fully done. I dropped midmorning feed first, then mid afternoon, then dinner, then lunch, then first morning, and finally the night feeding. I waited 2-4 days between each drpped feed before dropping the next one. I still got pretty engorged with the final feed drop, and it hurt. But I just took tylenol and used cold compresses.
