two weeks ago i took two tests (tesco brand) a week later i went to the doctor for a completely different subject.

She asked what had changed because i looked different rosey cheeks etc she then did a pee test and it came up with faint positive. i have a blood test in two weeks and a appiontment with mw in a month.

where did you find out and was it a shock ?

<3

I found out at home, POAS after coming home from a work trip. The next day, my general practitioner confirmed it. No shock - we've been trying for #2 for awhile now.

I found out yesterday morning at 7am :D I was about six days late for my period, we weren't trying so I didn't want to test earlier and have another false alarm, was sure my period was just being weird and then I saw the two lines :') Even though it was not planned we are dizzyling happy and still can't take it in, it's our first.

How do you feel about it sweetheart? <3

With both of mine I found out at the doctors...I think I could have found out at home but was too scared to look at it incase I see a negative xx

I've always found out at home through cheapie tests. I have never actively ttc and don't have regular cycles so never know if I'm late or not. Both times I felt "off" and thought I probably was pregnant. Even though I thought I might be pregnant it still feels weird seeing the second blue line come up. :flower: x

I found out at home but had it confirmed at the drs with this one as the line was so faint.

I found out while being out for lunch with my mom and best friend and waiting for the doctor to call with the results. I didn't think my IVF had worked TBH and wanted to be as close to the stores as possible so I could drown my sorrow in shopping :haha::haha::haha:

I'll never forget that moment :cloud9: we made such a fuss that people from other tables congratulated me:blush::haha:

At home. :flower: Got a faint positive a few days after my period was due and then a stronger one a few days later. It was planned, but I was still shocked since it had been a number of months trying so I couldn't believe it was actually happening!

I was actually surpised since my doctor and midwife didn't seem interested in testing again. I guess they just trust people.

At home. My cycles run between 28 and 31 days, so I tested in the late afternoon of the 31st day. We were technically NTNP, but I very much wanted it to happen (hubby wouldn't have minded it taking a bit longer, but he's happy about it).

It was such an amazing feeling to see that line come up. Sometimes I'd love to go back to that moment and experience it again.

My husband was out of town and I wanted to tell him in person, so I had to keep it to myself for like 5 days!

At home! We'd been TTC for 6 months and found out I wasn't ovulating :( both me and OH had to go to see the doctors and was told I may not be able to conceive naturally and were being referred in the future to a specialist, she said BD every 2 days just in case you ovulate randomly... 2 weeks later I had a weird period (nothing new for me, they were all over the place!) a friend made me do a cheapie just on a whim and BAM it came up big and strong! This was a Saturday... I didn't believe it so did another Sunday and Monday and then Tuesday I went to the doctors for confirmation even though she said my previous were definitely positive ha ha!!!! Even though we had been trying it was a shock as 2 weeks previously we were told it may not happen (when I tested I was already 5 weeks so was already pregnant unbeknownst to us at the fertility appointment!!)

I took a test on the afternoon out of morbid curiosity and it was positive. I spent the next 36 hours taking more tests (9 in total) just to be sure but didn't believe it until my FS confirmed it the Monday morning with a blood test and scan.

There's a huge part of me that still doesn't believe it and won't until I hold him in my arms, which shouldn't be too much longer now.

I found out at the doctor. It was only the day after my missed period and I had taken Clomid (to help me ovulate) but my doc prescribed it late in my cycle and we weren't hopeful. It was more of an excuse to bump up to the next dosage the following cycle.

I had the WORST cramps. I spent 3 days in a dark room crying on a heating pad. My doctor called in some tylenol with hydrocodone for the pain. It didn't make a dent, so he called me in. They did a pregnancy test and a UTI test "just in case" and there was a tiny, faint little line. The nurse didn't even see it. I did (as I'd been staring at negative tests for the last 18 months). She called the doctor in and he said "A line's a line!"

I didn't believe it could be real. I took, like 4 of the home tests that I had lying around as the week progressed, just to see the line get darker. :haha:

It was a shock, just in that we didn't think it would happen that month. It wasn't a surprise though as we had been actively trying for a year and a half.

We found out the night we returned from our honeymoon - hubby had been telling me to test, and I finally gave in (period wasn't due for several more days, but my nipples had been killing me for over a week). It wasn't a complete shock because that was my second cycle off birth control, but we hadn't been trying to get pregnant that cycle, and I had been told to expect it to take 6 months to a year. It was more of a surreal feeling that I was actually pregnant so quickly!

i was at the doctors for something unrelated. i was meant to get my period a day or 2 before but hadn't got it yet. i wasn't even sure i was pregnant tbh. my periods are always irregular, but since i get UTI's all the time i asked if i could get tested for a uti and a pregnancy test, because why not?

sure enough the nurse pulled me aside and said both tests came back positive hahaha. my doctor wasn't there and i had to see someone different. he was an a-grade asshole. he suggested i get an abortion as i had no job at the time and my partner and i had only been dating for a few months (plus a history of mental illness) so that put a damper on any kinda happiness i had at the time.

I found out at home. It was definitely a shock. I was half expecting it though. The whole reason I was taking a test early was because my partner and I noticed what we thought was implantation bleeding. Turns out we were right. I had a VERY faint line. I found out at 5 weeks.

#1 I went to the family planning clinic to get more pills and she said it was routine to make people take a pregnancy test so I did and got quite a shock :haha:

#2 Took a Tesco brand at home came back neg, two days later took 2 clear blues and 2 sainsburys and came back positive :flower:

I took 6 frer tests after coming off birth control and 3 years ttc previously. They were all negative.

I kept cramping for the next 2 weeks and my boobs got slightly itchy, so I bought another 88 cent test and it had a big ol' dark line. I was prepared to do the old squint and tilt, but the dark pink came up before the pee even reached the control line! :)

At home. The drs don't do a test unless you went in with some kind of problem but if you've got a positive at home they'll just go from that as their tests are no different.

first time I just got home from a holiday when I had sudden thought that my period hadn't turned up...so got a test and there was the 3+ weeks - shock was one word for it.

This time were actively TTC and on our first month I had a spare digi from the last time so randomly tested and again 1-2 weeks.

I found out at home. I was cleaning DH's lunch container.
I opened it and the smell nearly knocked me over - gave me nausea. I thought "hmm, that's weird I usually don't get nauseous." It was only 10 or 11 dpo. I wasn't planning on testing but since the next day we were flying to Las Vegas, I said "What the heck" and tested. A dark positive came up right away. It was a complete surprise because that cycle, we didn't really try since I was sick and were so busy. I guess all it takes is one :)
