Hello ladies!! I am sneaking in here from first tri (hope you don't mind me crashing the party).
Congrats and good luck to all of you!!

So I am obsessed with asking everyone I know every detail about their pregnancies. But I'm out of people.
I love love love hearing about the differences between carrying a boy and a girl.
So since many of you already know what you're having I would love to hear about your pregnancys.

I've heard that-

breakouts and acne are more common with girls?

Nasuea is more common with boys?

Wider hips and butt with boys?

Sweet cravings with girls?

What else?

Also I know that my husband and I had sex the 2 days before I ovulated. Does this mean I am more likely to have a girl?
Anyone know when they bd'd and what are you having??

Thanks so much for any answers- I just can't wait to find out- and I've got a while!!

I don't really believe too much in these things, but you never know.

I'll fill out the ones you asked based on the fact I'm having a girl :D

breakouts and acne are more common with girls? - My skin was AWFUL for the first 13-14 weeks, it calmed down but I've broke out a little the last few days. :dohh:

Nasuea is more common with boys? - I had no morning sickness! just the odd bit of nausea.

Wider hips and butt with boys? haven't noticed this!

Sweet cravings with girls? I never ate much chocolate before being pregnant and never asked for it. Since being pregnant the only thing I want to eat is chocolate, I can't even stop myself!

Hi here's my experience -no pattern at all tbh, unless they're wrong this time and I have a pink one lol:haha::haha:

breakouts and acne are more common with girls? -I had more break outs with my last two sons ,none with my DD and none now -but again carrying a boy

Nasuea is more common with boys? MS with my DD, none with my DS's and terrible hyperemesis this time ,but boy lol

Wider hips and butt with boys? small all baby bump with my DD, allover weight gain with my boys -all three; but then DD was my first pregnancy too

Sweet cravings with girls? - cant remember what I craved with my DD, but with son number 2 it was caramel shortcake mmmmmmmmm

Anyone know when they bd'd and what are you having?? I ovualted on 21st Oct, bd'd 20th and 22nd and its a boy

xx

Both of my pregnancies so far have been very similar. I had a boy the first time and am supposidly having a girl this time. The only difference, really is that my gums bled a lot with my son and not at all this time. And I felt a bit more sick in the beginning with this one, but not very much.

breakouts and acne are more common with girls?
I've had about as much acne as I would if I were on my period, but maybe a bit more. (I'm having a girl btw). It wasn't horrible, but it was more than I was used to!

Nasuea is more common with boys?
I had nausea with this pregnancy. Not super awful, but it could get up to 3 times in one day at most for me. So I definitely had some nausea problems

Wider hips and butt with boys?
The first place I expanded was my tummy, hips and butt. I think most women just naturally put weight on there first, before it goes to other areas like the arms, legs or face.

Sweet cravings with girls?
Yes! I started craving candy at 12 weeks, and it's only recently settled down. I can eat candy like I never could before! I used to nearly pass out after having 6 skittles - now I can eat a whole bag of candy and be fine.

I've also heard that craving meat means a boy. I think that has more to do with iron levels though! And also the carrying low means boy. But my baby is low and it's a girl. I think it's really impossible to tell by the signs of pregnancy, it's fun to guess though!

I'm supposed to be having a boy and haven't had any blemishes (although I have always had really good skin), no nausea at all and my ass/thighs are not any bigger.

I did crave pickles and sour things all through 1st and 2nd trimester, everything seemed too sweet. Now it seems to be ok, I can enjoy ice cream occasionally. Still don't like chocolate, but I never did.

:hugs: Good luck with your pregnancy!

This is my first so I don't have anything to compare it to.

Im having a BOY...

breakouts and acne are more common with girls? I have the worst acne of my life, its even on my back... argg

Nasuea is more common with boys? had very mild morning sickness in first tri for a couple week, never actually threw up, just nausea
Wider hips and butt with boys? My hips are a bit wider but everyone says u cant even tell im pregnant from behind

Sweet cravings with girls? I crave sweet & sour depending on the day

So basically all of these are wrong in my case. I think they are just old wives tales sweetie. Congrats on your pregnancy & believe me its going to be worth the wait and more once you find out the sex of your baby :) good luck with everything hun. xx

Everyone thought I was having a boy due to my complete and utter lack of symptoms. The old wives tales seem to vary from person to person but here's my experience:

breakouts and acne are more common with girls? My skin completely cleared up. I got 1 spot at the very beginning and that was it.

Nasuea is more common with boys? Had no nausea apart from food poisoning :dohh:

Wider hips and butt with boys? I have gained weight all over. My bump isn't very big but I've gone from a UK Size 8 to a UK Size 12 but that's ok as the weight will come off uniformly. It isn't concentrated though in one particular area.

Sweet cravings with girls? Not at all for me but then I was never 'sweet' person. I craved ready salted hula hoops at the beginning followed by anything salty or just meat.

Hubby and I had nookie on a Sat and Sun and I got a positive surge on the Sunday, so must have ovulated on the Monday = usually indicative of a girl. So that one I would associate to.

I got my BFP 6 days before I was due on and it was a very strong line - this can be indicative of a girl because of the higher levels of HCG.

They say girls steal your beauty, oddly my skin, hair, nails etc have become amazing.

Boobs are meant to get really big with a girly - definitely true for me! 32A to a 36E! It's amazing!

My mum predicted I was having a girl when I was 5 weeks because I was in tears for 2 weeks straight. She said it was all the oestrogen from making her eggs..mum knows best :winkwink: Since then, I haven't had any hormonal issues and been completely normal and balanced.

And that's it!

Well heres my experience of carrying a boy and girls

breakouts and acne are more common with girls? i didnt break out in any of my pregnancies

Nasuea is more common with boys? I never suffered with MS on my son but have on both of my girl pregnancies

Wider hips and butt with boys? Im all out front carrying girls and put weight on all over when carrying my boy

Sweet cravings with girls? I think i craved more sweet things on my son, like OJ, ive been craving more savoury things on my girl pregnancies xxxxxx

Thanks sooo much everyone. It does seem like these myths are mostly wrong. But its still really fun to read everyones experiences :)
