I'm so confused over this! When I was pregnant with my son I didn't have sore boobs in the 2ww which I normally do before AF.
This time round boobs have hurt pretty much since ovulation (which is earlier than usual) & I'm just worried that it means AF is comin & I'm not preg.
I've researched it like crazy & read so many different things. Some say it means u ovulated (which doesn't make sense with my other cycles cos I have to take clomid to ovulate). I know I definitely ovulated this cycle cos I'm charting. So if it's caused by progesterone I guess my body wouldn't know I was pregnant straight after ovulation so it can't be connected to pregnancy. But why didn't I get it when I was pregnant before?
Arrgghh so confused x

One of the first signs of pregnancy for me with my first was sore boobs :)

Hi keepholding on
Do u remember when u got it? I guess I'm just worried cos I didn't get it before

I've had 3 chemicals out of 12cycles ttc, every month regardless of conception i'd get sore boobs, would start with sensitive nipples at ovulation and get more sore from there so it's entirely normal to be either AF or BFP, or some people like yourself didn't get it at all when getting a BFP, everyone's different and every pregnancy won't be the same so try not to worry :flower:

Thank you patience and good luck this month, your chart looks good

Thanks :) supposedly getting sore boobs on the side is a good sign because that's where the milk ducts start getting stimulated or something, my poor boobs don't get left alone during the tww :haha:

Ok now I'm even more confused. Dpo 5 here and I pms hasn't started yet. I usually get it by cd24 - sore boobs, etc. It hasn't come. Did I not ovulate this cycle?

Babifever I wouldn't take it to mean u haven't ovulated, the month I fell pregnant my boobs didn't hurt at all until 6 weeks pregnant but I must have ovulated cos I got pregnant! But it does confuse me the more I read about it, I think most breast pain is caused by progesterone which is why it's both a pms and pregnancy symptom. But I'm just worried it means I'm not pregnant cos I didn't have it last time

yes its very confusing. I always have pms, always. But not this cycle or not yet anyways

Sore boobs are caused by a surge in progesterone after ovulation has taken place.. Don't know whether progesterone levels have to be at a certain level?? As women can still ovulate but have low progesterone levels

When I was pregnant with my daughter I had sore boobs as normal but the thing that stood out for me was that my nipples were also sore which wasn't normal in the 2WW for me xx

Tinadecember i also have sore nipples which I don't think I normally get.

It is very confusing- I've often had sore boobs in 2ww even though I don't ovulate on my own, so my progesterone would be low as temps never rose when I charted?

I know the month I fell pregnant on clomid with my son my GP said my 21 day progesterone still wasn't particularly high so maybe I've had a stronger ovulation this month which could be why boobs are sore this time? My temps are higher post O than the month I fell pregnant
