Oh I also give to and buy from charity shops all the time. I buy from CRY, vitalise and marie curie cancer care x

I always buy a few extra presents at christmas as the radio here does a christmas toy appeal. xxx

Yes, we do. Every year we donate cash and goods to the food bank, and we are now donating year round to Doctors without Borders and Amnesty International. I am hoping to add some nature/animal charities this upcoming year. I am thinking MEOW foundation and a local wildlife rehab centre.

I often donate money, although don't have any direct debits atm. Around Christmas, I tend to buy a lot of presents from various charity shops, and will get a few people oxfam unwrapped. I'm pretty sure where i'm from i've never seen much extra charity stuff around Christmas, will have to look though. Buy the Big Issue regularly too (although i've not seen one in Leeds for AGES)

I was in America with my family once, think it was around thanksgiving and in the supermarket they had an option where as you bought your groceries, you could also buy a (I think $10) food hamper which would go to the homeless, they had them already packed etc. so people could see what they were giving, seemed like a pretty good idea. I'm sure if something like that was available here, loads of people would do it.

we take Hannah to pick out a toy and have her donate it. we also give $ to salvation army when we see them out and have cash on us

I send unwanted items to my local hospice throughout the year but at. Christmas I like to buy toys for children who would otherwise receive nothing. This year I am donating them to my mam's best friends church (I don't go to church myself).

I never usually give homeless people money, I'm not actually sure why. But on Monday I was returning home from spending a lovely weekend in London and all the way home I just couldn't wait to be able to sleep in my own bed that night. As I left the train station I seen a homeless guy. I walked passed him. I then thought about how grateful I am to be going home to a nice warm house where he will probably sleep in a doorway somewhere in the freezing cold. So I went back along and wanted to ask him if I could get him a coffee or something but I was actually scared to ask. Anyway I caught his eye and he asked if I had any spare change. I asked if I could get him anything and he said a cup of tea would be lovely. I got him a large tea (2 tea bags) and a banana. It's something I've always wanted to do but I'm always to scared. The guy was really great full and it made me feel nice that I have helped him out in a small way. I don't really know where this story is going :haha: but I just wanted to show that even small gestures (it only cost me £2) can make all the difference

^ Thats so lovely of you. I understand you were afraid to ask. I am sometimes too. If I am with OH we normally buy them a tin of dog food (if they have a dog) and a cup of tea. x

Awww, that's lovely. I bet most people forget about their dogs but they still need fed too
