Do you like where you live?

I love it! I've been living in the same apartment for 10 yrs. amazing service, with the best view in the whole country. The apartment is huge, well zoned with huge living areas, nice kitchen, floor to ceiling wardrobes, 3 bathrooms & a powder room with toilet, & a maid's room with enclosed toilet. We have a gym & a pool in the building.

All services & utilities are downstairs, Starbucks in the same building, 3 sweet shops, 4-5 groceries & supermarkets that deliver by phone, laundries, beauty saloons, banks, pharmacies, clinics, etc.

The waterfront new walk is 5 mins away with play areas, restaurants, music fountains, mini golf, splash park, daycare & there is a small mall with hypermarket, spa & banks close by. Fitness first is also opening soon in that mall.

I love it, & DH's office is 3 mins away by car :)

OmarsMum, that sounds amazing!

Yes, I love living 10 minutes walk from the sea and all the lovely independent shops around here - but where I live is extremely affluent and I do feel a bit out of place sometimes! I am surrounded by these huge gorgeous old houses which kind of reminds me how crappy my house is too :haha: But there is so much for kids to do around here, both of the schools within a 5 minute walk are rated outstanding by Ofsted and we are pretty close to the centre of Brighton so I can't complain, really. I did love when I lived in a little area filled with young parents and hippies in Bristol though!

Oh and I love that it is so easy to go into London.

yes i do like it it's quiet and safe. I've lived in the area all my life but you could say i live in a nicer area now than where i grew up. We're twenty minutes walk away from a decent little high street or 5 minutes in the car from asda and a biggish retail park. 30 minutes ish drive from liverpool which i love. where are u eleanorace?

I live in Exeter :). I like it, it has the pro's of city life (theatre, cinemas, restaurants etc) but it's not too busy.

I'm from Exeter :) I LOVE where I live now :) nice village in Central Portugal very quiet with no neighbors and wake up to a breathtaking view of the mountains every morning! Conveniently only a 15 minute drive from the biggest City in the region  Best of both worlds!!

Nope, can't wait to move. Nothing to do here, all there is for Maria is a tiny park with just a swing and a slide, and its too close to my ex's parents who I never want to see again.

I love my house :) The town is ok. But I hate my neighbourhood, some of the people are horrible. There's are people who drink in the street a lot and the police are out a lot. The local kids are so badly behaved, they're out in the street at all hours, I've seen them being mean to animals, they've thrown stones at our windows, their mothers scream at them in the street :( Tbh I'm nervous about bringing my daughter up here :( luckily my next door neighbour is totally lovely, it's just a lot of the other people that aren't!

I live in east london and its fine for me. Im 4 min away from westfield stratford and only 20 min on the tube to central london. Cost of living is high and oh and i dream about owning our own place one day. All of his family are within walking distance.

Im originally from montreal canada and i miss it a lot. After 6 years i still cannot deal with a uk snowfall (lack of action to get the city going irratates me,im sick of hearing "this never happens here so we are not prepared" its happened every year for 6 years!!) and i miss lovely hot summers

I quite like it here. We live smack bang in the middle of Germany. We're about 30km away from Kassel and most of the major cities (Berlin, Frankfurt etc) are within a 3 hour drive. Could really do with an airport nearby although Kassel Calden is opening as an international airport soon.

We live in a 6 flat house. Our neighbours are old so they're all quiet and lovely. We have a tram station literally two minutes away. We have a few shops but we have to travel to Kassel to get anything decent.

I'd much prefer to live somewhere closer to Frankfurt or Berlin as they have a better English speaking community than Kassel. Schools are good, hospitals are good....everything is good really.

I do miss home though.

I like where I live, I am in a town in Mid Cheshire, not too big and not too small. Would appreciate a Cinema and a Nando's though :haha: But I live 35 mins from both Liverpool and Manchester.

My bungalow I love but I would love it even more if it had a separate dining room instead of a kitchen/diner. My street is a cul-de-sac of bungalows containing mainly old people so is very quiet.

Kind of like Danielles scenario, nice town, not to big, not too small, shops in the vicinity and all we needed was a cinema and a Nandos too, except we're getting TWO cinemas, a Nandos, Pizza Express amongst other lovely eateries...so excited!

I live in the County town of Wiltshire in a little cul-de-sac about 10 mins away from the town centre (5 mins by car) with nice neighbours who are friendly and look out for you...we're the youngest couple/family in the stree too.

I feel quite lucky.

Yes. I adore it. I feel so lucky to be able to live in such a fantastic location and in such a beautiful house. We live a 5 minute drive from Truro (Cornwall's City), but we're out in the sticks on a private estate. There's about 6 houses around us so we're not totally alone, but we're not over looked and we have a fair sized garden. Our house is grade II listed, although it's only two bedrooms we don't really want to have to move for a while yet. We're going to do up our house and add a small extension so we can have another child at some point. I just love Cornwall though, it's perfect :).

OMG so true, and im british and i hate the fact that every year we bitch about the weather like it never happened before and yet we had it last year and the year before. the smallest amount of rain/snow/ and even sunshine and the place comes to a halt. well london does. (not to offened any one who is currently affected by the floods in the west.)

It's quiet. We have a very low crime rate. It's basically all country. You can trust your kids to go outside.

BUT..

We have no shopping centres. It's always crap weather. The mainland is a 14 hour boat journey away and it costs a fortune to get off this island.

It has it's pros and cons, I do like it though!

I like it. I live a big new estate just on the edge of a really rough small town. It's a commuting estate. Everyone around us works in Edinburgh or Glasgow as we're just a mile away from the motorway.

Our street is lovely, we're the very top of a cul-de-sac so Niamh has a big bit of grass she can play on with the other kids. The neighbors are brilliant. A mix of 2 beds (some of which are a buying scheme) and 5 beds gives it some real diversity.

Not long ago my OH was out and I was in with just Niamh. Next door was away on holiday and her son (who's about 30 but well into drink and drugs) was having a party, they were making a real noise and one banged on my door (looking like a Jeremy Kyle star) asking me to go and get him fags. He got a bit mean when I said no. I was quite worried but 4 men from our street just suddenly appeared looking really quite threatening. All ready to to protect the damsel!! I know they're all weedy accountants and IT geeks. But the fact they were there made me love the place even more. Knowing that I live in a community like that.

Our town is an ex mining town so 'poverty' is quite high, as is unemployment. Petty crime and drug crime is also known in the area, but I've never seen any proof of this.
It's in the country side and a nice mix as we're on the edge of a lovely loch and at the base of hills but I can be in a big town in 10 minutes and several cities in 40.

I feel very lucky to live in a national park and feel safe here. Never want to move.

yes and no.

we live in a medium sized village about 15minuet bus ride away from wolverhampton which is named the 5th worst city in the WORLD.

but where we live is a very sought after area, although with neither of us having a car at the moment it feels like a prison!

theres bus links to wolves every 20mins but i just cannot take the kids there i HATE it.

theres a small park,2 lakes a sainsburys dr's dentists 2 pubs and some small shops all in the centre about a 5 min walk away.

our street is very quiet verging on boring as hell, our next door neighbours a bitch but we dont have to much trouble with her.

all my friends/family used to live here my best friend was a few doors down but all have moved and my mums the only one left and her house is on the market.

our house is nice, small but neturally decorated and clean and modern.

all in all its ok,were lucky but its just not our scene, its mainly older mums/well off middle class familes who curtain twitch, its boring and its almost prison like with no car.

when my mums house sells we'll be moving to the next village, codsall, which has a trainstation its twice the size and theres loads to do.

For the most part, yes. I live in quite a big city (over a million people) and we have a really nice home and are in a great neighbourhood. The only thing I'm a bit sick of is the weather. I've lived here all my life and I'm so sick of the cold and snow and needing to put on a bazillion layers just to go outside for a bit! And it's dreary in the winter...I hate the muck of dirty slushy snow!

I love the choice of sea or forest, like today I dropped off kids and walked to post office right next to the sea. Watched some boats come in and then went into the forest and enjoyed the peace :) So much today that does not cost money. x

I would love to move to Germany, so jealous!
