Hello :flow:

Do you pronounce the G in Bolognese or not?

Ive been debating it with my colleague this morning  and i dont, i say 'Boll-O-Nayse'...whereas she says 'Bollog-Nayse'...

Im curious as to how others pronounce it.

:flower:

No, I say it bolonnaise, without the G. But if I'm writing it down I'll always pronounce it in my head as I'm spelling it! :haha:

Nope I don't pronounce the G. Except when I'm talking to DH, then I call it boli-og-nase for some reason  :haha:

Nah I don't say the G. In fact normally I say "spag bol"

I'm Italian and you dont pronounce the 'g' it's a silent g. There are lots of other words in the Italian language with gs you don't pronounce like 'famiglia' (family) pronounced 'fa-mi-Lia'

Nope...don't pronounce the G.

Had always assumed bolognese sauce was ragu from Bologna...and as PorkyPig says, that's a silent g!

Yum, hungry now ;)

Mmm having cravings for its meaty tomatoeyness now, wonder if we can have some for tea

I'm trying to pronounce it with the g and I just can't make myself lol :)
Definitely a silent g for me!
