Do you think age has anything to do with it?

9 days late and neg HPT.
could it be because I'm "older" ?
my last child is almost 8 and when I took HPT's before the positive would show up immediately, this time nothing?

Not in my case. I got a faint positive at 8 DPO. I've never heard about age delaying BFPs, but that doesn't mean there isn't a correlation. Sorry I can't be of any help. I hope you get your BFP really soon.

Have a read of this article. It was an eye opener for me. One of the girls here posted it and I can't share it enough!

Thank you for that. Very enlightening and reassuring! I live in a small town where people generally have kids quite young, so I kind of feel like a dinosaur having one at 38. (I smell a new TLC show--"38 and Pregnant"! :haha:)

Lol! That will be a good one! Yw! I loved it! The article really helped put my mind at ease!! I was so nervous for my appt today and it went perfectly. I'm set up to have bloods drawn for genetic testing, On the 27th. I'm even more nervous now!

My fertility drastically declined in my 30's. I got pregnant first try at 25 and 26, 5th try at 28. Then, it took 9 months to conceive at 33, which resulted in a mmc. Then, it took another 21 months to conceive this little one at 35.

We started on our first at 31(he is a year older) pregnant first try. For our next two pregnancies also pregnant on the first try and I am now 33.

I believe knowing when you O can help and having a firm idea of what your cycle is.

I also think the shorter the cycle, the sooner you get a positive....

Great article. We conceived our first on cycle 2 when I was 33 and our second was also conceived on cycle 2. I am 38. I am not fit, I don't eat meat. I didn't take or use any additional fertility aids.We only DTD once in that cycle. I noticed ewcm on one day so DTD and two weeks later bfp. I feel for those who have trouble conceiving. It is not only heartbreaking but given the amount of 'fertility' aids on the market, it can be expensive too. I almost bought preseed but on reading the small print on the back of the box stating that the product's success rate had not been tested on actual people, I put it back on the shelf. Saved myself a few quid. Infertility or fear of it is big business. Outdated stats or those that are perhaps manipulated by those with vested interest do not help. I agree with the poster above that understanding one's cycle is important. It's good to chart bbt too, so at least you will know if you are ovulating. Forgive me if I've gone off topic. I am suffering terribly from baby brain!
