Do you usually test before AF is due or wait until you're late?

I'm curious what other ladies find less stressful/easier. Do you test every cycle? Are you addicted to POAS? Or do you wait until you're 100% sure AF is late? I haven't tested but am pretty sure I'm out this cycle... it definitely feels like AF is going to begin pretty much any minute now... but in the past I would have been taking tests for the last four days. I'm too frustrated by all the BFNs over the past year and a half that I just thought it would be easier this time over the holidays just to let AF get here and not have to see that one line again.

I never test before af is due, as I don't see the point.

I would do that if I had regular cycles, but I don't monitor when I'm on my own (I've been doing treatments and have A LOT of monitoring during those cycles and just try to take it easy when I'm not doing medicated rounds), and it becomes tempting to test all the time when I start exhibiting any PMS-like symptoms! I try to resist temptation, though!

I used to test around 12-13 DPO if things felt weird or my temps were staying high, but all I have gotten are BFNs, so I will no longer be testing til I am days late for AF or if I have a social event where I want to drink!

Honestly I've been trying for 3 months to become pregnant, and each month I have tested from about 8dpo. Out of those 3 cycles, 2 of them I have fallen pregnant and both of them I never even got a BFP until I'd missed AF anyway! In the future I'll just wait.

I always get disappointed when I test before :witch: is due. So this time I'm waiting to see if she shows or not first...

Because I've only had a "real" period with an ovulation once in two years while TTC and am always (rather stupidly) randomly testing, I decided last cycle that I'm not going to do it anymore. Unfortunately this time I think I did O, just don't know when... so I'm just waiting until New Year (cycle day 39/40) and figure that would be long enough to definitely be "late" unless I've been totally misreading my symptoms and didn't O at all. I'm 99% sure I did, though.

I wait until after AF. Unfortunately, AF almost always shows up on time. :(

I'm actively fighting the urge as I'm only 5DPO today. Guess it's a good thing I don't have anything to pee on.

I don't test before AF generally. Sometimes I will test one day before she is due, but I get very bad line eye so I would rather wait until AF is due and have a clear BFP than be squinting and wondering and hoping...

I usually test before. I've gotten bfps a week before af was due with both of my kids. I'm around 7 dpo right now and got a neg this morning but every pregnancy is different.

Hearing all these different perspectives is interesting! Because I don't even know if I ovulated and can't know if I'm "late", I tested Christmas Eve before I started drinking and got a definite BFN and was so disappointed, because from symptoms I would have sworn that I ovulated ~CD13 and maybe had implantation a week later, but that couldn't have been right... the 24th was CD30 so definitely long enough after that to test positive. Trying to stay optimistic that I did in fact ovulate SOMETIME before today (CD32), but slowly losing hope and counting down the days until I see my new specialist in January. This should teach me not to go by symptoms alone!

i always start at 5dpo and get a bfp around 8dpo i temp and use opks :)

i still dont have hardly any symptoms at over 5 weeks x

That's reassuring. My symptoms come and go. I think I'm around 7 dpo right now. No positive yet.
