Hubby and I are torn between 2 girls names and figure we'll decide on the day if LO is a girl. Problem is, the one I think I might just prefer will give her dodgy initials!! It would be B (Bella) J (Johannah) S (our surname) - would you hate this if you were at school??? Do you think its a real issue? I was against it last night but I love it at the same time. Johannah is a family name so I'd love to use it.

Honest opinions though, if its too rude, say so!

Ta girls!

Hmmm, I suppose - it was just something I immediately thought (dirty mind perhaps!!). Mind you, her main initials would be BS which is bad enough so if she could live with that then BJS is no different....you think???

Sorry but BJs is not great!! Potential teasing when she's older and all her classmates have found out what one is.

Agggh I know, I feel disappointed as I'd love to use it. Hubby thinks its asking for her to be teased too.

Grrrrrr.

Thanks for your opinions though :)

My best mate is called Bethan-Jayne Suleman!

In school everyone knew her initials and no1 teased her about it.
Its up to you but i personally think go for it x

OoOoOh food for thought!! I just dont know!!!

Will talk to hubby again. Mind you, everyone thinks we're having a boy so might not be an issue!

Thanks Vinnypeanut!

i dont think she would get teased for that, mine are ELF and no one found that amusing.

Ahhh, Elf, thats so cute! Great, thanks, you're helping to change my mind :happydance:

a girl i know is actually called bj its not short for anything thats what shes called... shes never had problems....

i have a thing that all my kids have a J as a middle name and if this baby is a boy im thinking of calling him Blake so he would have the initial BJM.... i think its fine hun.... my inititals before i got married were STDS lol...

Hehe STDS, I love how this thread is picking up people's initials - mine are SAS!!!

you could always avoid the initial problem by switching the names around, then using the second name as the first name... so technically her name would be Johanna Bella S...., and her initials would be JBS, but you could just call her Bella... I knew someone who avoided having the initials HEN that way. They switched it to EHN, but referred to her as Helen anyway.

My favourite girls name would means having initials of MMR which I'm not crazy about, so I can see your dilemma!

I originally chose a name for my blue bump & he initials were the same B.J.S & for that reason i changed the name, Immediately blow jobs came to mind as did the nickname " blow job slater " as slater is my surname. I wont choose a name where teasing could arise from it, We all know what kids are like & they tease for alsorts but if i can reduce it a little then thats my mummy job done. So i changed it to J.T.S :)

what about calling her isobel or isabella but bella for short??

i loooove the name isobel!!!

now that is a good idea... Isabella is beautiful, it's one of my two final choices if I have a girl - can't believe I didn't think of it!

You could have her official name as Isabella and just shorten it to Bella? Or maybe add a second middle name?

how about you add in another middle name to break up the initials?

i know someone else said that BS also has its meaning, but at least thats not a rude one and to be honest you'll find loads of initials have alternative meanings so a lot of the time its just about picking least awful one!!!

hope i make sense :dohh:

BS= Bull Sh*t , I'd say that was pretty rude!

yeah i knew it mean't that...just figure its a shortening of a swear word as opposed to a sexual act so i know which i'd rather have if given the choice!!!

I agree! Wouldn't like to have the initials BJ myself.
