Does anyone else think £600 - £800 is a bit steep for a pram?! ** update last page **

Jolou & Sophie I think for £250 it is a bargain...Im not going to buy it till around 20 weeks but ive been watching it like a hawk. I havent seen any others that have caught my fancy yet...but really looking forward to getting the pram. :happydance: lol. xx

The buzz carrycot is all padded and fleece lined and looks so snug :cloud9:

Also, you can def tell when you're pushing a cheaper pram. I was pushing my friends pram the other day and the suspension was horrible on it, the handle bar didn't adjust or anything. Also it was hard to manouver and you had to lift the pram to turn it round IYKWIM? Even simple things like the sound of the wheels on the ground was different.

same here one thing i did notice about it tho was the raincover doesnt fit the carrycot or carseat, just the seated section, i guess id have to ask about that closer to the time

You def should try before you buy any pram :hugs:

600 is insane for any baby item! That adds up to over 900 US dollars!! I paid $60 USD (that's £36) for my son's and daughters strollers and only $100 USD (£61) for their cribs. The baby is going to ruin it anyway (most likely by peeing, pooping, and smushing food in it) so spending a bunch of money on it is just pouring money down the drain.

Why is it insane if you can afford it, and have that disposable income available? A friend of mine spend £4,000 on her nursery. No, it's not something I would do but I wouldn't automatically say she was nuts for doing it. It's her money, and if she can afford it then why not? What better thing to spend your money on, than your child?

Babies also don't tend to ruin things through use. Things like prams, highchairs, etc are made with heavy duty wipe clean material to avoid it being ruined. Maybe the cheaper brands aren't as hard wearing or something.

Oh and the $60 stroller had a carseat/carrier attachment that popped on and off to make it super easy to get around with baby. I added an extra layer under the lining of foam for a little more comfort and both of my kids would fall asleep in them as soon as their bottom touched it. $900 is more than my mortgage costs every month.

Even the cheaper brands have linings that come out and an be washed in the washer but poo tends to stain it permanently and no amount of washing is going to get it out.

And I didn't say *she* was insane for spending that, I said the price itself was insane. I would never call anyone on here insane themselves.

my mother in law is paying for mine so i dont want to look greedy and ask for somthing mad priced like 600-800 haha. me and my partner r looking at prices around £200-300 as there not in the main big prams that long soon as there toddlers u mostly use light pushchairs, so i think its a waste of money for people like me who dont have that kind of money lol.

i have been looking at the stokee and this is £650 plus but this is only because its the only pram i have found which fits into the back of my convertible when the roof is down.

Includes- Xplory,Carrycot, Mosquito Net & Car Seat Adaptors and i will need to get a car seat as well.

Yes its a lot of money but i want something that will last and that i can use with my bad back so i dont have to bend down 2 far to pick up the child. I have given myself a budget of £2,000 to fund everything i need for the child which includes all the bedroom furniture, steamer, bottles, clothes, nappies (washable). I think that i can afford this pram in the budget and there is good resale values so i see it as an investment.

haha yer but wee tends to just leek out of clothes spesh baby grows, and if they have skirts on an things its not much to hold up . saying all this im going for a baige pram or white and black haha. oh well thats what washing machines r for:rofl:

Spend what you want! I have had 45 prams in total (I'm on child three) ....all price ranges and varying styles and Marlow now has a Bugaboo Cameleon that values up at £1200 with the chassis, carrycot, older baby seat, car seat and base, cup holder, raincover, car seat raincover, adaptors and two sets of spare fabrics...I paid a bargain £754 and believe it was money well spent....and it was saved for and worth every penny, imo...also have a Bugabloo Bee stroller for spare and when I have to pack son's wheelchair also in boot......

It may sound shallow but you can tell the difference (in looks and feel) between a quailty higher end pram than a cheaper one...but you have to get what suits your needs and wants and your budget!

Im just going to go for a pram that I like, and is good quality xxx
