Dunno for sure... but there are so many things that can affect those tests, that my guess is it's mostly a CYA disclaimer by the companies. They would be much less accurate when outside the time limits that were clinically tested. They also couldn't claim accurate results that appear outside the times that were clinically tested. Clinically testing too large a time frame would be too complicated and too costly.
I have seen several ladies get results outside of the time frame and some turned out true and some not (both ways). Maybe test again???
